    The Education Of A Speculator

Yeah. Suck off Surfer. You're adding as much value to this thread as you and your hero add to most things. Start your own thread ... something like "Why I can't trade a trend to save myself" subtitle "because I'm a twat." Lets let the OP tell us about his education instead of indulging...

    IB backfill is terrible!

You say its full of holes and spikes but that isn't my experience. So, are you downloading something that is (and you could edit them out I guess) or is there some secondary issue. I get backfill on overnight SPI and STW. I get backfill on forexa and occasionally backfill us index...

    EUR GBP Correlation

There must be because USD is one side of each pair (ie, if USD rises then both pairs will fall if GBP and EUR do nothing).

    IB backfill is terrible!

I believe that there is alternative charting coming out later this year. IB bought the company and I suspect it was a lot more expensive than QT (which many don't like, otherwise why would ensign and sierra have a business with non-free software). Backfill is good with Sierra Chart...

Decent charting software to use with IB

Yes. It lets you do it two ways: spreadsheets used by those who don't want to program and a c++ dll compiler for those who want ultimate speed and flexibility. You can also do autotrading from either option.

Decent charting software to use with IB

Sierra Chart www.sierrachart.com although Ninja Trader also has free charting as NT's sim mode is free. But free, although a stunningly attractive price, isn't everything :)

    Windows XP Question

Windows XP is just fine for trading. 1. The performance advantages of linux are mixed (better on disk access and multitasking, poorer in other areas including multi-media). But overall not going to impact most trading users. 2. XP supports a wide range of applications software not...

    Successful traders for Obama

Too true. Not everyone votes from pure greed. Some see society and their world in slightly broader terms.

Trying to let winners run for 4 YEARS, so depressed

If you think the problem is "money management" you are using a different definition to most successful traders. Which might explain you thinking its an edge. Money management, plain and george bush simple, is how much you allocate to an opportunity and how you change that as your account...

    serious psychological issue

The impulse to take that bad trade is coming from a different brain structure to the bit you need to be using. Add things that keep you in the rational part. Denise Shull's ANNA will help. Also you might try a script that you read out every so often to keep you focused on the right things...

California Mortgage Foreclosure Chart. Eye Opening.

That might not be true. In Australia we've only really just started the housing dump. But it's started hardest at the high end of town here on the Gold Coast. Waterfront and Beachfront in particular have taken a hammering as the wealthy see their share portfolio's halved and margin come a...

Anyone do the Dan Sheridan mentorship?

So for the last 10 years you have tested one system for every working day of that period. Really boggles the mind what is claimed by some at et. But what is never lacking is a strong and unsupported opinion on any subject.

ES not available now @ IB?

That's a little unkind gangof4. And untrue. And good for a laugh on a Monday morning. So thanks for your contribution to my good humor at the start of another interesting week. Cheers, Kiwi:)

    Meltdown Europe

"What shall be the new fiat reserve currency to replace the dollar for the next K-Wave cycle? The Euro! Euroland central banks have gold; but, in reality the euro, as presently constituted, is just another fiat currency like the dollar. The ECB 'talks the gold talk' in its advertisements...

    IB bulletin alerts to customers

Its not about ethics. IB will send any bulletins that they can as they can. Up to the point where they piss us all of with stupid bulletins about exchanges we will never trade. Its a question of how hard it is. I remember they missed one HK typhoon warning once ... the problem is that...

    IB bulletin alerts to customers

Forget ethics. Thats bs. 1. Everyone agrees that it would be nice to get a warning. But that doesn't mean its easy to do. 2. IB didn't fill your order ... they just offered it to the exchange where it was filled. And, lets get real here, if you can't check whether its limit down why...
