Although you can use ideal to convert you don't need to.
OK. To be helpful I've done a search and found one of the ib people explaining how to close a trade with your profit in either currency.
Go to...
FGBS ... yes you have achieved "prickhood."
I traded for nearly 10 years without understanding how to do the forex convolutions required here. A lack of knowledge in one (specialist) area doesnt' make criticism in another invalid. IM(H)O :)
Search the board for idealpro. One of the ib reps explained it very well a year or so back.
Basically you either sell the amount you bought so that you get the denominator currency or you sell a proportional amount to get the numerator currency.
So either is possible. One needs a...
Good point gnome.
The best OS I've ever used is Windows Server 2008 x64. Fast responsive (like vista could be one day) and pretty.
But. A number of my favourite apps don't work and the drivers for my logitech marblemouse don't work nearly as well as with XP 32. So sadly, I have returned...
abxs. its always a good idea to make sure you have the latest drivers for your videocards if you have a graphics/charting issue ... it may not make a difference but its worth checking.
That looks right rc.
I actually install the jdk and the jre. Then I get the Server Folder from the jre part of the jdk directory structure. I copy it to the jre and then I uninstall the jdk ... it seems I download the jdk just for a couple of files.
Someone else started a discussion thread about java/tws performance a year or so back. I started with what he suggested and then (by googling the commands) made some adaptions for faster real time performance at the expense of more memory use.
The trouble is that the underlying trading in the currency is light ... especially if you look at crosses like kiwi & sf. I recall buying kiwi/usd options some years back ... that was a nasty market. I suspect that you get the appearance of liquidity but it isn't "real" --- so when something...
Good to hear. I'd still use stop limits, just with some definition of worst case (I used to do that when I traded SF on dailies with orders open for the overnight session and a 6 tick max slippage after studying a lot of overnight data). I gave up on low liquidity stuff years back though after...
To be honest KS I have no beef with you. I just thought that cabletrader was a dickhead. Actually I think hes a complete fuckwit.
In this case though we'll never know the answer until you get a response from IB to the trouble ticket. You might speed it up by pm'ing the local IB reps and...
You need to do some work.
I've run it on xp, vista, windows server 2008 and windows server 2008 x64.
Try uninstalling and reinstalling.
LMAO swtrader. very good.
You really are a dullard.
If one doesn't use a stop ... what does one use?
I will leave you with that question and perhaps when you figure it out you'll be a little better prepared. But probably not.
Unless he provides the fault docket and the response this is so much speculative bullshit.
We've seen such speculation over an over at "elite" trader. And when the facts come out ... oh ... gee whiz ... its never what the op presented.
And anyone who trades thin contracts with stop is...
Bullshit.
The first post is clearly from a newbie who has just discovered some facts of life. Stop hunting ... for fxxxs sake ... thats an excuse used by those who don't know what they are doing.
I have never had a stop hunted that didn't deserve to die screaming.
And hes trading...
The US wasn't the only country that had a blowout of credit. By any means.
At least Russia, China and Brazil going down has shut that idiot, SouthAmerica, up for a while.
Is this a tws on linux issue then? It just seems strange that tws can be wrong and then come right. Hence my suggestion to be absolutely sure of the correct times last time tws shut down and when it starts up (not knowing how and when it gets its times). If you see what i mean.
jk.
To be absolutely sure that u don't have a local issue get a time setter that can do 15 minute rechecks (say d4timer) and set it to run the day before you test TWS. Be absolutely sure the time is right before you open TWS .... (u can tell when it last succeeded in the main d4 window)...
