Ok .... I will try and answer your questions. He can sell-to-close right up to 4:00pm EST, but the broker might close earlier if there isn't enough margin. I think SPY options trade to 4:15pm EST, but I can't with my broker. Each contract is 100 shares. There would be no problem selling...

It was a joke not directed at you. I don't follow option greeks - to me they are as useful as taking it up the ass. My post was sort of a play on words.

Theta had very little to do with the 445 Puts declining from $0.66 to $0.14. Most of the decline was due to the SPY going from about $444.81 to about $446.10 - up $1.29 in a very short period of time. Delta was the big influence on the options in this case.

Yes .......the 445 Put expiring today opened at $0.21. The current bid is $0.66.
