TWS screwey since yesterday afternoon (6/12)

I'm getting this right now. I exited TWS and tried to restart it and the login screen doesn't even reappear. All other internet activity is working fine as far as I can see.

    IB TWS ver. 794.2

I asked this question on IB's TWS forum and was belittled too. I wasn't criticizing anyone for requesting this feature or for believing it has great security value. I only wanted to know if we had the ability to turn it off, if we so desired. The answer so far seems to be "no".

    Repeal Of 60/40 Tax Treatment!!!

Was this amendment believed to be the idea of Senator Charles Grassley of Iowa or was he listed on it because he is Chairman of the Committee on Finance?

    Repeal Of 60/40 Tax Treatment!!!

The March / April 2003 Futures Industry Magazine article at http://www.futuresindustry.org/fimagazi-1929.asp?a=829 starts out like this: "Just Another Record Year One has to wonder sometimes what it would take to produce a slow growth or no growth year in futures and options...

    Repeal Of 60/40 Tax Treatment!!!

This is truly brutal. I sent a couple of e-mails to my representatives and sure hope that it doesn't become law. What makes it so startling is that I was not aware before today that a scheme was even in the works that would revoke this tax treatment.

Price movement is a battle thru Trendlines and S/R

I think even lagging tools have merit if they are widely followed. All of us market participants need certain prices that we agree are significant, so that we can jointly watch or decide what happens when we get there. But for me, prior highs and lows are absolutely the most fundamental...

    Is the Rally almost over??

In the past 4 days ES has made 4 slightly higher highs, reversing hard each time. Yet the buyers keep coming back...

    Babak's Journal

Babak, Please don't forget that this big first-half 2003 rally was anticipated by Didier Sornette and his anti-bubble model. In fact, his market prediction still looks good so far.

    specialist prick factor tuesday AM

IMHO, the market (ES) has just shown itself to be unstable so far today. After the first half hour, it has made 3 new highs for the day, but also 2 new lows. I view this kind of action as the markets way of making up for the easy gains that were possible on the prior 1 or 2 benign days.

    Exchange Fees

I agree with you wholeheartedly. There should be a way that we could prove or certify to one vendor that we have already paid the same exchange fees through another vendor.

    Vix

To some extent this rally is an ILLUSION. Our stock market is priced in dollars, but the dollar has been falling FAST. So fast, in fact, that if you factor in the decline, the stock market "uptrend" disappears. I mentioned in another post that you might look at an adjusted SPX, created by...

    50 Day Moving Average Again

For the SPX, though the 50-day MA has not yet closed above the 200-day MA in this rally, that test seems to be coming VERY soon. It don't believe it closed above it EVEN ONCE in the move that topped in March 2002, though it came very close in early May, after the decline was already underway...

    SPX & U.S. Dollar divergance

How about if we try to adjust the SPX for the drop in the dollar? Here is a chart of the cash S&P multiplied by the cash US Dollar index. It shows that we are still consolidating below the March 20 highs.

eSignal and IB price discrepancy at around 10:00

I found a post someone made on the Signal bulletin board this morning. It said: "eSignal seems to be lagging 15-30 seconds on ES at this moment, starting 10 am ET (release of economic figures). Edo."

eSignal and IB price discrepancy at around 10:00

The ES quotes on the two were differring by up to 2 points around 10:00 for several minutes. Who was giving me the right data? Any other problems that anyone noticed?
