    You must Buy INTC now!!!

I agree that overall market direction is certainly important, but fundamentals of individual companies has greater importance.

    You must Buy INTC now!!!

Read any major hardware news site, and you will see detailed benchmarking of the new Intel Core 2 Duo chips...Anandtech, Tomshardware, Firing Squad etc. I'm sure you can find those sites yourself without too much difficulty.

    You must Buy INTC now!!!

There is something that many of you need to remember - computer users are fickle; they want the fastest, coolest (literally), lowest power consumption CPU for their money. This holds true whether the buyer is in the market for a gaming system or a room full of servers. AMD arguably been...

    19" Lcd $130a/r

From what I've read, there has been a significant oversupply in LCD product so far this year. It's pretty amazing how low some of these LCD monitors are now selling for. Can't comment on the larger size stuff.

Oil sand stocks, reality after all the "pumping"

I also found a housing stat interesting from earlier this week - houses in Calgary, Alberta were up something like 50% year over year. Utterly insane. I've been harping for a bit now that a little bobble in oil prices could lead to some of these megaprojects being deferred, ironically it...

    You must Buy INTC now!!!

I'm quite bullish on Intel's forthcoming products, but I think that right now would be a pretty risky time to take a position (right before earnings). I had taken on a position a couple of weeks back or so, but was stopped out early this week.

    DOUBLE inverse ETFs

Interesting question. It's not very likely for the positive ETFs to go to zero, but I wonder how a significant upwards move in the market would affect the double beta inverse ETF.

    DOUBLE inverse ETFs

Thanks for posting about this, looks like the double inverse ETFs just started trading today? Daily volumes are looking promising on all of these, though they still have a ways to go.

    Housing Rolling Along 2

Here is roughly how securitization works in Canada, should be fairly similar in the US. Let's hypothetically say that you go to Bob's Mortgage Co. to get a mortgage for your house. The mortgage co. initially lends you, say, $300,000. The cashflows of a mortgage are similar in some senses...

Yup, they are indeed interesting products. The double beta inverse ones should be particularly cool. http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=55054

Financial stability of sub LLC firms

Good point. I was looking into one of the Canadian prop firms a few months back, and immediately had second thoughts once I saw some further details of how the arrangement would be set-up.

    Comments on INTC?

Benchmarks are looking quite good thus far for the Conroe (desktop) chips, Woodcrest (server) chips are also looking good in terms of power consumption, though I haven't seen comprehensive benchmarks yet for them. I'm still holding my INTC shares, with intent to hold them through the fall; my...

    Housing Rolling Along 2

I see what you mean, and it is possible to pursue that type of approach with the various sub-prime lenders here in Canada, but at the end of the day you still need to be able to afford your mortgage payments. So affordability is a combination of being able to qualify for a mortgage, as well as...

    Housing Rolling Along 2

Good article, I particularly liked the point about first time home buyers being priced out of the market. You either need a large down payment or a very, very well paying job where I live in order to afford a new house.
