    Age Restrictions on Prop Firms?

Mav, We have very different opinions of prop firms, regardless of my job. You were the manager of a prop firm and had a great experience. I was a member, for one year, of the same firm, and did not have a good experiance. Just after I left that firm, very well capitalized, they had financial...

    Age Restrictions on Prop Firms?

Have you considered a retail account vs prop? Do you have the $25k+? You can also do prop after if 4x does not work for you. If you do prop 1st, you will have to wait a year to get your money out.

How to fix Custom spread to Iron Condor

I agree, that it is important to learn from your mistakes. This was a mental mistake, not based on strategy. These are easy to learn from. And, the spreads your doing don't require you to be quick in your order entry ticket. Set up your ticket. Check the NBBO on the spread in your complex order...

How to fix Custom spread to Iron Condor

I'm not allowed to give trading advice, sorry. In my past, when I put on a trade by accident, mostly buys vs sells, I exit the trade I don't want ASAP. Then, do what I intended. Not worth dwelling on the mistakes.

How to fix Custom spread to Iron Condor

So you sold the call spread you wanted, but bought the Put spread you wanted to sell? If you did this as a spread, how did you not notice that there was no credit, or not enough credit? If I did that, I would sell the put spread out and enter the short put spread I wanted. Then I would have the...

so many expiration dates on SPX , SPY options

Filter out the ones you don't want to view. Not only are they a lot of expiration dates, we also have minis and jumbos. I think it's too much too.

    Practicalities of Option Greeks

The Greeks are used to see where your risk is, not to decide which call to buy. This would be much easier to help you over a short phone conversation then me typing a really long response. If you email me your name and phone number, I'll can give you a call this morning before the open.

Your thought process going into a trade

I agree. As I have posted before, part of risk management is proper trade allocation toward ideas that have positive expectancy with a risk/reward value that fits your business. I would say that I would rank EDGE then RISK MANAGEMENT as the two most important things to focus on, but I would not...

    Independent Option trader

I agree, but that can get expensive and you might not get enough volume. I watch ES, LO, SO and OG options from 6pm ET until 10pm ET most evenings. I see some futures trading but very little option trading. I would guess that a simple set up to make two sided option markets can cost at least...

    Gaming Chairs

I use an extra dining room chair with arms. The chair was expensive, but I had it already, so the real cost was zero. I don't like the wheels on chairs or the ones that lean back.

    Advice for young trader

SIG hired one guy in my trading crowd back in the late 90's, that did not graduate, but he was an excellent poker player. They taught him how to trade and he taught poker and card play to the traders. If you look at their website, they still teach poker because of him.
