    Up 8,000% for the week

If you're still around d, why not stay on? - its (mostly) harmless fun here, though once you get to a certain level of experience naturally the learning curve has all flattened out. Having said that, I do feel that since I returned to ET after a long absence this place has really got a lot...

    Timing

I agree with the sentiments of your advice to the OP but you present trading as comprising day-trading only. For 90% of new traders reading this forum day-trading will never make them any money. But long-term investing is not the only alternative to day-trading. I have always traded off the...

    Why waste your time?

Nearly all restaurateurs (who fail) treat running a restaurant as a cooking project. Nearly all traders (who fail) treat trading as an amateur science study project. Both groups are not treating their task as a business. Not surprising failure rates for both are high and similar. The...

    Automating buying a dip

I use another way to enter a long. The set-up has to be in place first on the daily chart - 20EMA above the 50EMA, both EMA's sloping upwards The signal - price makes a daily bar with a daily high below the previous day's high The entry - buy at the breach of the lower high (as long as...

    Trump's worst economic statements

I know what you're saying. The UK media is obsessed with Trump. But what's happening in the US apart from his tweets is ignored. I do believe if you want a clear view of current affairs, don't watch the news.

I won’t be voting for the president again, says Ohio farmer who backed Trump in 2016

Cheers. We have to act morally superior, its our birth-right. :-) Its also a little compensation to having to defer to the Monarch.

    New guy needs some help

No worries. As you're American, I think I and probably others took it for granted you don't get either percentages or the metric system. Take it easy. :-)

    Trump's worst economic statements

I'm not a US resident or tax-payer so it isn't really my quarrel. But I'm very very happy Trump is keeping socialists out of the White House. Whatever economic damage he might do will not be as bad as what they would do.

I won’t be voting for the president again, says Ohio farmer who backed Trump in 2016

The UK has become a basket-case as an example of democratic government. We've never pinned down our relationship with the EU or its predecessors. We always knew it was good for trade - we could keep a staunch capitalist government in power that could push British business in an Anglo-Saxon...

I won’t be voting for the president again, says Ohio farmer who backed Trump in 2016

Trade wars mean less trade. More trade means more wealth, more peace, more food, more democracy, more health, more education, more liberty. Seems a bit one-sided...

Is price action trading the most insightful(& most accurate)?

OK, got to accept some markets trend more readily and for longer than others. But within those contexts, surely there isn't a way to predict a trend will soon start, or the next trend will be in the best 10% of the year for that market. In that sense these things are unpredictable. Which makes...

Is price action trading the most insightful(& most accurate)?

Surely price which is not trending cannot be predicted to become a trend, and neither can the duration or consistency of an existing trend be predicted. Unless you know of a way?

Facebook passes its first hurdle on a brain-computer interface

Yes, I would indeed have to be physically paralysed before having anything to do with Facebook.

How do you calm down and goto sleep?

I get up early. This helps sound unbroken sleeping. I always use a stop-loss. I set my orders to enter long or short before bed and forget the markets until the next day's close. At that time I will see which orders have triggered, which stops have been hit and which open positions I need to...

Is price action trading the most insightful(& most accurate)?

My success comes from firstly finding trends (not hard) and joining them: secondly cutting the losers before they get as far as the stop-loss whenever possible.
