    nasd sued over COCO

So if I understand this correctly: 1.) Busting trades - o.k. (CME & CBOT specialty) 2.) Halting a stock - o.k. (a NYSE specialty) 3.) Halting a stock and busting trades - lawsuit, not o.k.

    nasd sued over COCO

How is this any different than the CME or CBOT busting trades on a spike in the emini or dow mini contracts? I wonder why no one sues them?

    Beta Index Futures

I sent a couple of exchanges an email to their marketing/sales address. Never heard anything back. If someone at an exchange takes the idea and runs with it - good! Thats why I posted it.

    The SPAM is killing me

You got to change your email address - its the only way IMHO. Then open up yahoo, hotmail etc. for all non-family email. Of course you probably know that already.

    Beta Index Futures

I wonder why no exchange offers a beta index futures contract (that I am aware of). It would seem like a perfect contract for momentum funds to hedge with and it would probably lead the other futures indexes attracting speculators. In this lower volatility environment a beta index contract...

    What are your Trading Breakthroughs?

I've had hundreds of "ah-ha" breakthroughs. Usually I get them after a losing trade. About half of them proved to be false (with real money) and maybe 20% of the false breakthroughs proved to be true again. :D For me, breakthroughs are a never ending process of small advances and retreats...

    Dollar Danger

US policy should not be for a strong dollar or a weak dollar – but for a market valued dollar. In other word, let the market determine the value of the dollar without political/central bank intervention. A strong dollar benefits the financial industry and generally the coastal areas of...

Why No Gripes Against TradeStation, ect., Like IB?

Its not always true that you get what you pay for - thats why so many people shop at Wallmart. I have paid more in commissions for worse service & execution than with IB. This is the first problem I have had with IB. Lets see how they handle it.

    IB Is So Unreliable

I've got the same problem. IB is unsure what it is. Before you do something radical, I'd wait and see if it gets corrected.

eSIGNAL 7.5 RELEASE ADDS MARKET DEPTH AND ADVANCED REAL-TIME MARKET ANALYTICS

Now the title lettering is spread across the entire top of the chart blocking candles making new highs. This is not an improvement.

    TA - Self-fulfilling prophesy?

People are always saying that "this is the worst market in history" and "technical analysis doesn't work anymore". Not trying to be trite, its just that I have heard this over and over again during the last 17 years.

    Globex Thanksgiving Hours

It says Friday close for S&P (equity indexes) at 12:15 Chicago time. 1:15 EST. CME site is always CST.

How much should a "good" trader earn?

How much wood would a wood-chuck cut if a wood-chuck could cut wood?

    Bounce coming?

Agree with you too. Weekly ma seems like the next spot for a bounce. Would be roughly a measured move down from this consolidation.

    Bounce coming?

I'm with Chasinfla. Upward momentum on MACD dying. There comes a point when a pullback becomes a consolidation area for a further move down. Especially after three pushes up.

    Anyone using bullets today?

Bandit - that would be a good screen name for an undercover SEC agent - ha!
  17. T

    No more bullets per sec

Its clear to me that the NYSE specialists ordered their lackey, SEC Chairman Donaldson to eliminate bullets etc. With scrutiny as high as it is the specialists can't make the big bucks by front running (for now anyway), so they came up with a new revenue source. That new source is listed...

    New ES Margin from CME

I'm picturing an exchange official who has an epiphany during his afternoon nap causing him to raise his head from his desk and shout - "Good God, I am first noticing that we have a terrorism problem in this country - raise the margin rates!" Or perhaps someone at the CFTC got spooked with...

    NYSE to announce new hours

That lady from the Council of Institutional Investors that was on CNBC had it right. You can't have NYSE members voting who will be a board member that will regulate them. Otherwise the members will just vote out of office any board member who cracks down on them for violating the rules...
