    I hate chop

But I'll bet the majority of new and losing traders are chasing reversals. Why aren't you preying on them? There must be more of them and they are easy prey surely?

Where is the SPX going once the rate decision is released?

Its not something I've ever thought about this time or ever. I'm long the Dow index but that's its in an uptrend, nothing consciously to do with the Fed. I tend to the general wisdom that good news comes in uptrends and bad news comes in downtrends. But I guess we'll soon see.

    yellow jacket trading strategy

I saw this before but didn't think then of flipping it. See, I will always be long on the Dow index if the Dow's in an uptrend - but I never short it. All indices of similar construction have an upward bias so I'd rather deploy cash into forex when the Dow is bearish. However, maybe this...

    Trading the Indices on Fundamentals

My view on the Dow is to buy when its in an uptrend, bank the profits periodically but immediately set another buy order and then repeat. There's not much to discuss apart from the fine detail. Plus what to do when the Dow's in a downtrend - at which time I get into cash and wait for the uptrend.

    I hate chop

You shouldn't feel too bad, I think this is the way most traders trade, so its not like you made an outlandish erratic eccentric decision here. However its only possible to buy right at a bottom by chance, but it is greed that drives people to repeatedly try it. Greed is of course another view...

This is important to know if you trade like a hedge fund and not like a private retail trader. Do you actually do that?

    A Free Strategy that works

I did not make a personalisation, this was a generalisation but based on facts concerning my situation - it is a fact that many people have told me that trend-following cannot work in current markets. Yes, I am willing to wait for alignment. within the context of my approach, it is the...

Ah, yes I did. I am sorry. Carry on regardless.

How would you time a Short on Russian Ruble in 2014?

    1. Yes, obviously shorting RUB is done by going long USD/RUB. There isn't another practical way to do it as far as I know. Its just too obvious for words. 2. Your fundamental view was wrong and remains wrong. My technical view was right but I'd probably be out of that position by now. But I...

    Brexit alternative legal options.

I'm genuinely not sure of what would be best for the UK, but here's what I think Johnson will do next - 1. fail to get an improved Brexit deal 2. call a second referendum with the options: a) no-deal Brexit or b) Remain This step probably needs the EU to agree to a delay on the 31/10...

    A Free Strategy that works

Lots of people keep telling me that there just aren't any trends around any more. Not like in the 70's and 80's apparently. These are people who who aren't making money and don't believe I am. Obviously if there's a chart with the 20EMA below the 50 and both sloping downwards I am in there...

How would you time a Short on Russian Ruble in 2014?

For me I have to ask if this is the right question. We've all seen so many occasions when fundamental news does not move price, or even moves it in the opposite direction and this is a good example. On this one, my TA rules would have kept me from shorting RUB before mid-May, so I would have...

    A Free Strategy that works

I'm coming to think that "strategies" are a poor value way of looking at trading. They are inevitably over-concerned with entry patterns, so most are highly dependent on some off-chart indicator or indicators, many have complicated rules that fail to account for changing contexts and most are...

European Union: A Massive Expansion of Top-down Powers

Its hardly breaking news that the EU is moving to unite Europe under a single government. That has always been the declared and public objective of the EU and its predecessor bodies. This isn't a conspiracy. Its declared policy and it has never been otherwise. The exit of the UK from the EU...

Is fundamental analysis less important than technical analysis in forex?

Brexit was a once in a lifetime event. Probably the riskiest time to be trading GBP for any reasons, technical or fundamental.
