I've had the same problem as CFerret since yesterday also (in the US).

You can get IBController from the TWSAPI group at Yahoo Groups (http://groups.yahoo.com/). This software will keep TWS running for however long you specify in the code.

Because of my full time job, I dedicate 3 hours in the morning (4a-7a) to trade. I enjoy the short time frames (3-9min charts) so this works for me and I don't give myself the chance to take a long term view of any particular currency pair.
