    Piers Morgan losing it again

Michael, I'll make a trade: shoot all the fat liberals and then ban guns. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/47211549/ns/health-diet_and_nutrition/t/study-obesity-adds-billion-health-costs/ http://www.huffingtonpost.com/john-rosenthal/us-gun-violence-by-the-nu_b_139879.html

There is no gun problem with american whites, the outliers like colorado are anecdotes and mean nothing. England has a murder rate the same as other european countries that have gun cultures.

U.S. Poverty On Track To Rise To Highest Since 1960s

Obama has had his entire adult life to polish this act of appearing smart without doing much. He's the equivalent of a televangelist for the left. He either is starting to really believe that is is smarter beacuse of liberal fawning, or if he is honest he must look in the mirror, take a hit...

U.S. Poverty On Track To Rise To Highest Since 1960s

some did, Soviet Union and Sweden from 1970-1995 for example. The only difference is everyone was becoming impoverished. Sweden turned it around by electing conservatives to fix their mess, not some liberal pothead. More generous is hard to define sometimes becase people seem to think...

U.S. Poverty On Track To Rise To Highest Since 1960s

You are kidding right? Just because it is mandatory means it isn't included as part of the government budget to combat poverty? You even called it the social safety net, what the hell do you think SSI is all about??? What a piece of tortured logic, I have no idea how you guys even arrive at...

U.S. Poverty On Track To Rise To Highest Since 1960s

The middle class was hosed by free trade with china and india, people knew it was coming. It is called wage compression and it is just fine with elite liberals like J. Brad DeLong at UC Berkeley, he thinks wealth needs to be redistributed from the US to the third world. Secondly, never in...

U.S. Poverty On Track To Rise To Highest Since 1960s

Or maybe in an information driven economy premium is placed on education and intelligence, both of which are in short supply at the lower end. Love the emphasis on outcomes rather than opportunity.

c'mon ricter I expected better than a quote from the liberal bible (I forget which gospel that is from - Matthews, Marx, Luke, or Noam). Two fundamental errors: you have the independent variable wrong and you hold too many others constant. But one fact does address this directly: studies have...

and if fire didn't exist then nobody could commit arson- so what? You are not asking the right or an even relevant question. It isn't "how do people want kill", it's "do people want to kill?" availability of guns might only influence only the means but as we see in the case of England versus...

You can't make such a conclusion from that site Ricter, it doesn't give any data on gun ownership. To really get at the issue you need to look at murder rates since this variable is supposed to be influenced both postively and negatively by the ownership of guns according to both sides of the...

someone living in Africa, or living in a country dominated by people of African descent. Ricter's list was by country. If you sort by homicide rate you get South Africa, Jamaica, Swaziland, and Zimbabwe all ahead of the USA. Accurate data is hard to get, but violence is probably underreported...

Switzerland is a gun culture - very nice place with low violent crime. lovely anecdote below from the other thread, look at how the brave thugs trip over themselves when the old man pulls a gun on them. Unfortunately he didn't kill thier worthless asses, they will be back at it soon no doubt...

and the point is? It has been shown that culture is far more a predictor/cause than firearm ownership rate for violent crime, if that is where you are going.
