    Indicator of NAS volume?

I lost a bit this morning during my few trades... my 'entry signals' looked OK but the volume just wasn't there and things didn't quite work out. :( Is there any handy indicator that a newbie can use to chart intraday volume on the NAS to be able to tell when it is picking up, slowing down...

    Trader's clock: Benefit or bogus?

A picture is at: http://www.millennium-traders.com/daytra5.jpg My main question is this: Do you feel the timeframes depticted by this device (I know, you have to squint) are accurate or worthwhile? green=OK, yellow=CAUTION, red=DANGER

    Is Daytrading a Random Event?

reading over the last 24 hrs of posts... you certainly can't apply 50/50 coinflip instance logic to daytrading because for each trade there is an entry and an exit, often a gain or loss is based on timing: two trades started at the same instant, same stock, one is a ended after 'x' seconds and...

    Is Daytrading a Random Event?

Market forces at work: A seller believes that the price of the stock is going down... a buyer believes that the price of the stock is going to go up. How can you call this random? If the markets were truly random then individual equities would not move (for the most part) in unison, trending...

Ib requires minimum of 25k at all time to daytrade

I see this referenced a lot... is that a 'total number' or 'per equity', i.e. can I trade 3 MSFT, 3 QQQ, 3 BRCD, etc. in a five-day period and still not be labeled a 'pattern day trader? And... does the not more than 3 refer to round trips or one-way trips? Mr. Toad

    Trading Journal - May

Seanote said: Newbie here. Yesterday I did pretty good - made 5 trades of 100 shares and came out + on 4 of the 5, so figured today I would extend myself a bit and trade some larger lots- ouch! No big losses, but things were awful choppy - I gave up at noon. Hoping Monday is better...

    Daytrading profit potential

Well, I sorta botched that entry- I want to achieve an AVERAGE of 1% of my account per day... I realize there will be good + bad days. No, this isn't John Belushi in Samuri Trader :D Mr. Toad

    Daytrading profit potential

I'm just starting, but my goal is to make 1% of the cash in my account per day... 'day trades' only, no overnight holdings. If I make more than that fine, but my expectation is 1%. Mr. Toad

    Pin Point Day Trading Method

    Question for successful day traders

A question for the plethora of 'successful' day traders that hang out here: :D Definition: You made more money than you lost in the last 6-12 months after expenses and can consistantly 'bring home the bacon', not "well, I got lucky today - I'm in the black". Just curious... anyone care to...

IB - fractional cent limit order entry?

Looks like the IB user forums have recently broached this subject: http://www.interactivebrokers.com/discus/messages/3/330.html?1021864400 Do user comments in their forums have any sway? If so, I'll hire a bunch of schoolkids to reply to that topic begging for fractional cent ordering! :D...

IB - fractional cent limit order entry?

I guess while I'm full of questions, I'll continue with this one: Do most brokers allow fractional cent orders, or are most like IB and limit you to whole cents? Thanks, Mr. Tode

IB - fractional cent limit order entry?

So I guess the question now is this: on orders with identical prices, how are they filled? Oldest order first? Smallest size first? Largest size first? Random? Inquiring newbie minds want to know! Mr. Toad

IB - fractional cent limit order entry?

Yeah, it sure does suck. It never dawned on me to verify this little detail using their test system before I opened an account. Not sure if that would have been a deal breaker, but would have been nice to know ahead of time. :( :( I posed the question (same wording as above) to the IB...

IB - fractional cent limit order entry?

Newbie IB user here. I tried to enter a limit order for MSFT using '53.261' and got the yucky message The order price "53.261" does not conform to the minimum price variation for this contract. The order routing for this stock was BEST. Is there any way to do fractional cent limit...
