Will it go up or down?

Yes, well I could have said intermediate-term rather than long but same principle.

    Pope: "There is no Hell"

This is a complicated issue Humpy. Its hard to argue we need to limit immigration into the UK on economic grounds when we have employed persons at an all-time high, wages rising faster than inflation and 833,000 job vacancies. Whether we want a more diverse society and what sort of people we...

How much income do you need from trading?

Actually, Variss, although targets are widely used throughout organisations, I think they're spurious in trading. I think its just another concept that is incorrectly translated from business to trading, and there's plenty of them. Setting targets won't make your trading less risky and more...

Will it go up or down?

I'm sure inexperienced traders take lessons hard learned from other areas on life that the short-term future is more visible than the long-term. The principle is wrong in trading.

How many years does it take for one to learn the forex trading?

Define what you need to learn to be profitable. Learn it. Ignore the rest. Objective 1 is identifying a trend, 2 is mastering risk management. That's it. Three days learning, then move on to demo for a month.

Why market wizards are not day traders?

I accept I'm generalising, but although its a generalisation to say it but I like generalising and I'm generally not wrong.

Why market wizards are not day traders?

Almost nobody makes consistent profits daytrading. I just think its a style too difficult for true beginners to start with. Sure, they might still go broke holding overnight, but of all the people we've heard of over the years who went broke, I bet only the tiniest fraction were wiped out by an...

    Preferences for trading / investing

I trade exclusively off charts, using almost no fundamental information. I have never invested in the markets.

Why market wizards are not day traders?

Absolutely a good point. If you're planning to hold overnight, you also have a decision to make as to which instruments to trade, and this is very much a risk management decision.

Why market wizards are not day traders?

Yes, I have no hard evidence. But anecdotally, most new traders are daytraders and most new traders go broke.

Why market wizards are not day traders?

Its increased risk, not uncontrolled unless people wish to not control it. I'm sure all the daytraders who went broke in the last 12 months thought they were doing the right thing by avoiding the risk of overnight holding. Seriously, I have to bet that most new traders think the only form of...

Possible. He could be like the clever but insecure kid who doesn't study for his exams - so when he fails he can say, well, that's alright, the results don't prove I'm stupid, because you all know I didn't study anyway: but if I had have studied, I would have walked it.

How do you trade using multiple time-frames?

I look to get into trend-following only long-term trades, all being well the winners lasting 15-30 trading days. I use daily charts only, never look at anything smaller. I find it hard to see the relevance of 4-hourly charts to what I'm doing. I mean, the London and NY forex sessions last about...

    Information about Peter Brandt

All these such guys make money from struggling traders because of the myth that trading is impossible if you just trade what everyone else can see, because everyone else can see it. In reality, the chart shows what the big money is doing and the only way to beat big money is to either be...

    Moving Averages/Trendlines/Time Intervals

I don't understand the strategy from the code, but the equity curve would give me confidence. The correct way to use MA's - and an objective and simple trading technique - is in trend-following.Typically, trend-following systems kick off with deep draw-down in their equity curve, they accumulate...
