A gift. Thank me after you get rich.

Here is his resume: http://pages.stern.nyu.edu/~nroubini/referen.htm ... just another talking head - nothing magical ... ... at this snapshot in time, his hypothesis seems valid, but how do you account for "surprise" in an economic theory? ... also, China might be the one who "sneezes"...

    Natural Gas Stocks - Any?

If you trade futures, you can trade the electronic Natural Gas contracts. However, the emini is sized at a $5000 multiplier (quite a large daily VAR). Otherwise, Barron's reviewed a stock with a high correlation to NG price ... ticker: PDC

IB now treats SSF like stocks

Unfortunately, SSF never had the tax treatment that other futures enjoy. The 60/40 mark 2 market capital gains does not apply.

If you didnt make money today

Did not make money today. Market blew through 3 additional levels of stops on my US equity index short positions. One stop level on the NDX right before 4pm and close to the day high (and yes, it was if they knew it was sitting there and reached up and grabbed it ;) ) . Was painful to watch...

ES versus ER intraday- which is best to trade

going from ES to ER2 could be like going from a horse back ride to the rodeo. ER2 is just coming off an all time high ... ES is still well under it's all time high in early 2000. see attached

Can't bring myself to leave my job.

The interviewer probably wouldn't say that, but a many of my clients would will fear that: 1) The candidate is not passionate about what they were trained to do (BSEE). 2) The candidate may leave his new employer high and dry like the last one as soon as they save enough money to begin...

    Wall Street Job-Hunter Chronicle

Well, theoretically, a "draw" is a loan against future wages. There is little recourse for a company to recover a draw if it has been paid through a W2. So ... you should consider it a "worst case" salary ... and if the earnings never come to fruition to cover the draw, then leave the company...

The Single-Family Home Tax Shelter Myth

Here is a simple model on affordability. 12x (or 1200%) for LA is way off the charts ... 3x to 4x is historical average. And I mean not just for the last 100 years, but back to Roman times. Right now, it appears personal income must rise quickly to support 2005 selling prices. It looks...

What would you tell your child if....

Philosophically ... Nothing worth while comes easy. Say NO. There is plenty of time in life to fall back on the self serving life of trading. There is one single purpose - to make oneself money. There may be many great minds that are WASTED trying to extract money out of the...

The Single-Family Home Tax Shelter Myth

AMT nukes most property tax deductions. AMT does not effect mortgage interest deductions. Best thing that ever happened to me was missing the housing boom of the 1985. I was continuously trying to save the 5% down needed for the down payment on a town house in NYC suburbs ... but, the...
