    what's ur answer on this?

Keep in mind how many people walk through the door and say exactly what you said. Barely a day goes by where someone (usually a young guy who thinks he knows everything) walks through the door with those type of answers. We remember the one's who actually can talk some small specifics about...

    Tradestation automated trading

This is a major drawback with TS back-testing. Make sure and set the back-test resolution to intra-bar in the "Properties for All" tab. I have found 1 minute resolution to be the closest in terms of accuracy. When I try to use ticks, my results are skewed even more. I am not sure if TS gets...

    option pricing

It depends upon what it is you want to do. If you want to be an analyst, you are heading down the right path with the formal education. If you want to actually be a trader, at some point you are going to have to stop with the theory and learn how the markets really work. Good luck.

TradeStation - give me the real picture

Your experience with TS will likely be determined by how you use it. If you only have charts and use some indicators provided with the platform, the latency is not horrible, except times of heavy volume. During high volume periods, the ES is routinely 2 handles behind TT. If you are...

I am interested to hear what others have to say on this topic as well.

TT FIX Adapter vs. XTAPI latency comparison

My understanding is the XTAPI is marginally faster; however, I have never conducted any proper benchmark testing. I would be curious to see the results as well.

Stock trading arcades/Prop Firms in Chicago that ask for less than $25,000?

Even with an enviable "superstar" track record, any firm in town that supplies capital will take a minimum of 25%.

Rick Santelli--Assertion--All CL Have To Take Physical Delivery?

The delivery facilities in Cushing are very limited. They could not withstand even 10% of open NYMEX interest. The cost to deliver physical oil is huge as well. There are only a handful of financial firms with the capital and expertise to deliver physical oil. You simply do not look in the...

    X-Trader and charting

Frank, Completely agree with your above comments on X-Trader and CQG. Also, you are correct about X-Trader's extensive RTD library. It is very extensive and easy to use.

    Free Software

Check out XLQ by Qmatix. Very reasonably priced, with lots of features. Free delayed data for equities. Connects with IB and IQFeed for r/t. I have used it for about four years.

    X-Trader and charting

Grant, Can you be more specific about how X-study does not meet your needs? Regarding the TT Fix adapter, cost depends upon your broker. It can be expensive. CQG has always been the best when it comes to charting and data.

Looking for the best trading computer there is? You want this!

I use an iRam drive, which is quite similar to the one posted. One thing to note is that the speed improvement depends upon the software. There is hardly any noticeable improvement with something like TradeStation; however, my higher end apps like X-Trader run better.

DDE to Excel to new formula back to chart?

Multicharts allows you to choose any cell in Excel to plot and will store the data into a MYSQL database. Excel / DDE has some limitations, but the solution through Multi is decent.

    Prop trading/ no experience

Many of the books listed above have some valuable information. Most, however, neglect the one key component for your success in this endeavor –your mind. I would suggest before you read anything else, check out a few of the books that focus on the trader’s “mind.” Mark Douglas...
