Longs, be extremely careful, this is like 2008 again - markets may not necessarily stay open... It may take 3-6 months for this thing to recover.

Best case scenario, this smells like Feb 2007: Worst case scenario: We just saw the highs for awhile - they gap down during globex tonight, and 'bitcoin' the buyers at highs by not letting them back in for quite awhile.

Is volume analysis useful in index futures?

Not sure about your clarification re: retail - I don't care about retail and neither does institutional money - so perhaps we agree. When I shared in my chart a reference to 'retail stop cleanser', I was actually reflecting on another ET forum where everyone (all the retailers) happened to be...

I know this is a bullish forum, but nice 5-6 handle technical trade short towards NY gap fill to start (and end) the day. Bearish mode ends if she breaks above S/R at 2733 with authority.

Is volume analysis useful in index futures?

Volume alone? not helpful. Volume used in combination with support/resistance, supply/demand awareness? Absolutely. It does not matter if we're talking index futures or any other instrument where volume can be adequately measured. Volume used together with other insights can be very useful...

how to defeat the situation eager to close the win orders?

An important technique is to have a breakeven, stop loss, and profit target strategy prior to putting on each trade. Ideally these 3 things stem from a profit expectancy formula where you know your odds before placing each trade. I have found that fear in putting on any position (at least for...

After the 1st leg up do you sell or hold?

Depends on the market, time of day, and your trade plan... Here's an example in crude oil this morning. It's a Monday, so I tend to treat each leg as it's own trade. @Robert Morse makes some good points - treat each leg as it's own, and as oneself 'does the setup still make sense?' CL had a...
