    Retail vs Prop

    nowadays the only difference between prop and retail trading is leverage. even if you have enough money to fund a 4:1 retail account and get nice leverage, I would still prefer prop as you can invest your trading capital in some other venture.

    have you considered joining a proprietary firm and having your "sponsor" become a class C member of some sort where he puts the money up for you to trade and split the profits? I've seen a few prop shops do this.

    what do you mean by "difference in terms of operation" exactly? in a true prop trading set up, the trader gets paid a salary, a small cut of the profits, and assumes no risk. proprietary trading setups as we all know them (see Echo, Bright, etc) are nothing more than disguised retail accounts...
