Covid shutdowns coming . Record complacency is interesting

I don't ever short the US indices. But they can't go straight up for ever. If the Dow drops much from where it is now I'll close my longs at b/e at worst and cancel my pyramids and wait for it to hit bottom and start going up again. Then we start all over again.

Frustrating to Buy Tops & Sell Bottoms

Agree on your analysis of the market. I'm interested as I spreadbet the Dow, occasionally throw in the Nasdaq and S&P, but in any case long only. Eventually the Dow always goes up. And eventually usually means the middle of the next week.

Identical twins compared a vegan diet with meat-eating, and found the vegan diet led to fat loss and

".........losing his libido..........."! Considering I'm in the UK and we're under a second lockdown and all you can do is go out and buy food or jog round the park once a day perhaps I should give this vegan thing a try. I'm climbing the walls here lads..............

If Biden Shuts Down Economy: 4,000 Point Drop in Dow Jones

Not being located in the US I'm more concerned to understand how fast and how consistently the Dow could regain a 3-4000pt loss. I'm sorry for the financial pain many people might need to go through in the real economic on the way down. But the Dow will recover, whatever it loses, and that's...

    How to reduce a loss

Concentrating on the losing trades is the wrong focus in my opinion. Losers are guaranteed to occur, you built them into your career when you started using a strategy that has less than a 100% win rate (which is all of them). As said above, just make sure they don't overwhelm your account...

Frustrating to Buy Tops & Sell Bottoms

Just some very basic thoughts on trading. How does a trade make money? - If the trade is a long and price rises. How do you find a trade where the price is (probably) going to rise? - Price is already rising.

Problems with my broker, cannot withdraw my money!! S.O.S HELP

Perhaps we should start a log of the most bizarre places a broker (should that be alleged broker) is based - you rightly mentioned a few. I could add North Cyprus, British Virgin Islands, St. Vincent & Grenadine. Actually I suspect the OP is up to some game - someone posted a very similar post...

Do you think it's a bad idea to buy a house at this time?

I can make some generalisations (but based on the UK property market). It can almost always be a good idea to buy a house, BUT - buying for less than 2 years is almost certain to lose money, unless you can throw some renovation work at a poor house in a good area and flip it buying to save...

Deutsche Bank proposes a 5% tax for people still working from home after the pandemic

I'm quite confident the UK will do badly in economic terms from leaving the EU for at least the first decade. After that nobody has a clue. But leaving / remaining was never an economic issue.

I have literally no idea what you're talking about.

As you have a source for these metrics how does that relate to comparable societies?

Not so fast bone, until the Brexit decision, the UK had by a long measure the fastest-growing GDP in the G8.

Deutsche Bank proposes a 5% tax for people still working from home after the pandemic

Yes, the UK has left. We're now in the transition period until 31/12 during which we negotiate future trade etc. relationships.

Deutsche Bank proposes a 5% tax for people still working from home after the pandemic

It would be like a German bank (or many European banks) to start wailing for the government to do something when their business turns downwards. I'm actually happy (I'm in the UK) for Germany for make as many stupid anti-free market decisions as it possibly can - now that we have left the EU.

Well they have admirable technique but I dunno, at my stage in life perhaps these athletes are just a little too........ wholesome...............?

Governments caught in a corner are often swayed towards tinkering with markets but this is just mischief-making.

Problems with my broker, cannot withdraw my money!! S.O.S HELP

A similarly worded and structured message appeared on another trading forum 5 days ago, concerning the same issues - withdrawal problems, EU250, responding to an advert, investing in Amazon, communication problems etc. etc. But in that post the broker was named as OROTRADER. Would you like to...
