When will Interactive Brokers give us a nice, clean OTO order type?

Def, thanks very much for weighing in. Your post speaks to the issue at hand: None of the orders you mention are worth squat. They are too specific and narrowly targeted ... or they don't work for non-SMART-routed orders, which is a 100% deal-killer for trading SPX spreads, which must be...

Asking for new security device at IB?

Except it was 2 different cards, mailed weeks apart, neither envelope having signs of trauma. But I agree it could have been a coincidence.

Market Makers are colluding to price fix for short/medium term

I have developed a thoroughly unnatural love for this thread. As of this afternoon I have fired all my previous gurus and will now be following only VanishingMediator.

When will Interactive Brokers give us a nice, clean OTO order type?

Ok, last try ... is anyone at Interactive Brokers listening? If so can I please get a comment on this? If there is some technical or other reason why this order type will not ever happen then it would be good to know.

Asking for new security device at IB?

Just the obvious: Plastic cards and temporary paper printout cards are less secure, theoretically/mathematically much easier to crack but more importantly your hacker only needs a copy of your card and not the card itself. Electronic devices have PINS in addition to dynamically changing pass...

When will Interactive Brokers give us a nice, clean OTO order type?

Switching brokers is a last resort, but one I am considering. Also I really need something more generic than the COB book, but nevertheless the COB book would be a big plus. Who are these brokers, and do any of them offer more generic alternatives?

When will Interactive Brokers give us a nice, clean OTO order type?

Thanks for the response 1245 ... you touch on one of my main points: IB is always coming up with some feeble, useless or near-useless attached order type when they could easily kill many birds with one stone by providing an "order-triggers-order" which is completely generic as I describe above...

When will Interactive Brokers give us a nice, clean OTO order type?

Umm ... not sure where you're coming from with that zdreg, but paying an extra dollar in commissions to timely hedge a partial fill on an option spread is better than losing, say, $10,000 or more waiting around for an all-or-none. Anyway, for index options hedged with futures at IB there is...

    How are trading orders routed?

Positron, I could not agree more that this should be a standard option for all APIs, and all front ends for that matter ... but so far as I know this is impossible with Interactive Brokers TWS or standard API ... am I wrong about that?

When will Interactive Brokers give us a nice, clean OTO order type?

Def, Pete, anyone at IB: Can't you easily give us a nice, clean, simple, generic one-triggers-other order type? That is, for any order I can attach any other child order that is submitted when the parent order is filled (for partial fills, quantity submitted in same proportion as quantity...

Asking for new security device at IB?

Beware the gold cards! First forced upgrade from platinum was a couple months ago ... card worked for a few weeks, then killer blob took over the LCD screen and card became useless. Second forced upgrade (for a different account) was a few weeks ago ... card arrived with killer blob already...

    Seeking a usable CobWeb interface

Thanks FSU ... I think I should broaden my question by simply asking "how do I get the CBOE COB data in a usable form for a reasonable price?" ... Surely there are many elitetraders who scrape from COBWEB ... anyone want to sell their scraping code? Or even better, am I missing something obvious...

    Seeking a usable CobWeb interface

I'm looking at CBOE's CobWeb site ... for example, choosing SPX vertical spreads gives a crude list of 1531 items, most of which are uninteresting to say the least. Are there CobWeb interfaces or GUIs available that allow for easy filtering, sorting and searching, and/or downloading? Yes, I am...
