I agree, but the OP is 777 and he cares about Berkshire. He wants to make sure you and everyone else knows that he made a good call, balances things out for him a bit. :) As far as daytrading, this is a very broad concept. As long as one opens and closes at least 1 position in a market...

There are trends every single day, in every single liquid market. You have to be more specific about what time frames you are referring to. Also, people define trend many different ways, just because the daily chart may be going sideways for weeks or months doesn't mean there aren't multiple...
