So why Tesla didn't pick Poland for their European factory?

ABB is the e-station, right? I've been tracking the competition BLNK CHPT, VLTA and EVGO which have been surprisingly disappointing. The charging business is tough, capital intensive for a quickly evolving tech.. by the time you're done installing your 100k delivery stations, someone comes...

Millions for a half-shredded Banksy? The art market has lost the plot

We all seek recognition, artists more so than others. Some can't gain recognition and flourish without layers of facilitators i.e galeries, critiques,.. who often conspire to build up artists as the next big thing in exchange for artwork as form of payment. Seen it done.

So why Tesla didn't pick Poland for their European factory?

Despite being a Tesla bull, I've not been a proponent of a factory in Germany and have already posted why. What concerns me next, that is, once they get their permit to start work, is that the all mighty IG Metall union will have moles employed there whose job will be to sabotage production with...

    Time Frames

I have kept the 1 mn for the times I day trade, which still represents about 20% of my activity, but depends on the general movement of the market and of the specific stock.

Millions for a half-shredded Banksy? The art market has lost the plot

We can only process sudden events. It takes intellectual forethought to project complex slow moving ones. Even now, seemingly obvious climate and environmental changes have many influential detractors. There's no question in my mind that our modern societies, particularly the most...

Millions for a half-shredded Banksy? The art market has lost the plot

Usually art reflects on society. Its stated decadence is effectively reflecting the decadence of both the concentration and the democratization of extreme wealth, projected on our media screens in a frenzy of self absorbed clips vying for monetized attention. My cynicism has been beat by reality.

The concept of house money, selling half when the price doubles and letting it ride..

It's possible I've got my dates wrong. I'd have to check when I did all that. May have been Feb and not March.

The concept of house money, selling half when the price doubles and letting it ride..

I mix my stocks between highly volatiles, safe (I call TSLA safe) and the potentially rewarding over months. Ironically it's that last category that is most frustrating and least rewarding to me, and the first I will get out of once they turn a profit.

The concept of house money, selling half when the price doubles and letting it ride..

Having just begun trading in 2020, this year has been pretty hard for me, harder than it should have been. I should squeeze a profit if the remaining weeks of the year uptrend, but it shouldn't have come to that. At least I learned a lot, enough to know there's more to learn. Stop losses is one...

The concept of house money, selling half when the price doubles and letting it ride..

I don't always time my buys well and end up several dollars above the actual bottom. At that point I should probably take the loss and buy again on the upswing or buy another stock, but psychologically it's difficult to write it off. Holding it somehow feels like it's not lost. Sometimes it...

The concept of house money, selling half when the price doubles and letting it ride..

I attribute my getting back in so soon to my utter lack of trading experience. Today I would most likely have waited for signs of a recovery and missed out on 10-20%...

    Twitch and the accounts revelation

Reading about the Twitch saga and how much streamers can make... it's absurd. A streamer in Canada made $705k in a month; a Dungeon & Dragons group made $311k in the same time... No wonder no one wants to work for $15/hr at McD!! The real source of inflation isn't hourly rate increasing from...

The concept of house money, selling half when the price doubles and letting it ride..

I live in Singapore and started hearing about covid in late December. Like most, I paid little attention through January, when the virus started spreading, putting people in hospitals and killing them. By late February there were talks of confinement and shutting down Asian factories. At the...

The concept of house money, selling half when the price doubles and letting it ride..

Yes, I happen to reinvest quickly after closing a trade for that reason. But I could just as well not, simply because the market is dumping and I prefer waiting for the right opportunity to get back in. I pulled my 401k to cash a day before the March 2020 crash and went back in about 30 days...

The concept of house money, selling half when the price doubles and letting it ride..

Didn't need to read your point to have factored in opportunity cost in trading decisions. I believe that sometimes what you call a loser can turn to become a winner given time. For example, I held BABA and AMZN shares. Both fell significantly and I did not have stop losses. I sold and took the...
