Did Robert Hoffman really lose 312K in a single TF trade? Yikes!

    That's right...Sorry.:p

Did Robert Hoffman really lose 312K in a single TF trade? Yikes!

My point exactly. These firms have at least legitimate steady gains even if they may blow up in some rare events. This guy averaging down had just a short term loan to the market.

Did Robert Hoffman really lose 312K in a single TF trade? Yikes!

A pure arb'er or a guy using multiple strategies across multiple instruments can have this kind of results, but a mentor trading a mainstream overcrowded contract like TF, no way...I would be interested to know how consistent the best TF traders are. I suspect they may still lose one day per...

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

LOL...That's right. Their systems making an average of 0.001% per trade( 1 EUR per 100000 ) have to be colocated to the exchange. So they will trade in London like every day when a 0.01% tax will come...What an idiot. NB: Good point Barnier confirms it needs unanimity.

John Carter - Hubert Senters - tradethemarkets.com SCAMS?

At least Hoffman is a transparently bad trader. His results make sense. I would be more intrigued to know how John Carter steadily lost 90 % of Vienna's 200K in a matter of a month while on a trip( sorry I don't remember the exact amount and time but you get the idea ). That's quite a...

John Carter - Hubert Senters - tradethemarkets.com SCAMS?

Normally a regular snake oil salesman that just lose a bit on the market, nothing meaningful, says on its website he can provide track records to attract new clients, but fail to produce it on actual demand. If these guys are putting this on their website, they must be loser of epic proportions...

    60 Minutes: HFT

What is the point of calling HFT traders "cheetahs"? Is it just to say these algos have no knowledge of their markets and trade like monkeys? Is it all that Chilton came up with? I may not get the subtleties here... Whatever this guy is a regulator for futures market, where HFT has never...

    Sad sad day

I really don't know anything about this industry, but I thought all bacon we eat was coming from pork bellies and that it was standard to freeze it. Is it different now? I also read somewhere that packers have better way to hedge right now and it was one of the reason there was no interest in...
