Straight answers please. Estimated taxes: yes or no

You're right, you can use schedule AI rather than a waiver. That doesn't really change the point, but I was incorrect, thanks for pointing that out.

I have no idea, I stand corrected!

Yes, I will ask. Apparently all that engineering math just didn't prepare me for this high level stuff you're using. If all of the EU's GDP was $27.282T including the UK, and the UK's GDP was $2.67T, then the EU-UK would be $27.282-2.67=$24.612T. We'll move to a higher level of math now...

London post-brexit as a financial center

As you said to schweiz, I am going to cherry pick one of Germany's numbers from today and not compare them to the UKs numbers to "prove" my point. If any of us cared enough we could find 10 recent numbers showing the "sinking ship" of the U.K. Throwing them out in isolation like you did would be...

Europes GDP in 2017 was 27.282T (https://data.worldbank.org/indicator/NY.GDP.MKTP.CD?locations=EU-US-CN). The UKs was $2.67T Simple math, 2.67/27.282= 9.7%, so not sure where you're cherry picking your data. To be clear, you don't get to tell 90% what to do when you're 10% or "play hardball"...

So I think UK industrial production fell .8% in the latest numbers released (https://www.ons.gov.uk/economy/economicoutputandproductivity/output/bulletins/indexofproduction/november2018), does that mean the UK is a "sinking ship" that's sinking twice as fast as the EU? And it looks to me like...

Straight answers please. Estimated taxes: yes or no

The easiest thing to do is just pay enough estimated so that your withholdings and your estimated payment exceed what you paid last year, then you're safe. You do probably want to calculate what your tax payment will be before you start trading in 2020 so you ensure you put enough aside to cover...

That actually wasn't my point at all. My point was that the UK and Canada are both very small compared to their next door neighbors the E.U. and the U.S. and that in either case a threat from them to "play hardball" with their immensely bigger neighbor is going to be laughed at. You actually...

Straight answers please. Estimated taxes: yes or no

Any income, there is no differentiation between how you earned your money when it comes to estimated taxes. You have to pay 90% of your eventual tax bill or 100% of your last years tax bill under the safe harbor or you'll get hit with interest payments, full stop.

Why don't you copy the whole post since in the context of what I said a 60% difference isn't relevant. Again, read the whole post, make an honest attempt to understand the other person's post, then reply. That's the only way you could hope to learn anything, even if all you're learning is why...

@Visaria thinks that Germania contributed more to the EU's GDP than the UK. See how I did that, made something up that you never actually posted, is only tenuously connected to something you posted, and we both clearly agree is incorrect? If you actually took the time to read anything posted by...

    Discussion 70% U S Tax Rate

I have business there and of the dozen or so states we operate in it is the most punishing tax regime. They have both a standard income tax and this crazy thing called a personal property replacement tax, plus they use single factor apportionment which is very costly to multi-state companies...

You had a veto-proof majority of the other party already anyway, didn't you? Should only impact agency appointees and not much else. Anyway statistically he'll be in prison sometime within the next 4 years, right?:D

That's a hell of a reach. If you're going for doom and gloom I'd be hitting DB before a random shitty low cost carrier airline, those things go under all the time with pretty much jack for impact on the national economy of a Germany size country!

Corbyn as PM - price target for Sterling?

You may be past caring but the GBP isn't! There's a pretty clear inverse correlation between the strength of the pound and the probability of Brexit. The market clearly see's the probability of Corbyn coming to power as a bullish sign for the pound because it decreases the chance of Brexit...

Given that they were communist rather than socialist, one would think they were a particularly poor example of socialism.

South African Forex and Finding Oil

There may be. And there may not be. Since I didn't post any opinion on the probability of that eventuality there is nothing I could be "wrong" about there. The OP posted as if something he and apparently you both hope for had already happened. It has not. I am not "wrong" about that, the only...

South African Forex and Finding Oil

More quotes from the same article: “If we can discover oil and gas here, that will be a game changer for the country in terms of the economy,” Mantashe said. “We hope that we will discover oil so that we can reduce our dependence on imported crude oil. If I discover oil in my yard it will be...
