    ES Journal - 2021/2022

Just looked back at the 5 prior candles before WR one and they had no up volume whatsoever (0 vs 67, 0 vs 53, 0 vs 57, 0 vs 35 and 0 vs 48).

    META Likely bottomed

There's a disconnect in your above post. Crapping on Meta (which I agree with BTW) then looking to buy lower anyway. o_O

I was able to pull up a 33 tick chart - and during that wide range red candle there was up volume of 51 and down volume of 2765 or 99.88% down lol. The time of the bar before was 8:30:01 (note same for the previous 5) and time of the WR bar was 8:30:21, the time of the bar after and the...

    TA is BS?

Quants crunch data. TA is all about data (price, time, momentum, volume) not just patterns.

Misspoke with this earlier post ... "back down close to open presently ...". At that time it was still 68 basis points away. But just about 5 minutes ago it touched opening level and is not slightly above. Now what does it do?

Where do Economic Reports first hit?

In one of my trading books the author tells the story of his days working as an Intern in the Gilt-Edged and Money Markets Division of the BOE Division when he and his colleague speculated on what the inflation number would be (in the early 90's, not now of course). He gave his guess, the...

Think it all depends on 10 yr yield, ripped higher 177 basis points stopping @ 4.078% from last night's open @ 3.901%, only to come back down close to open presently @ 3.969%

Surprisingly, to me at least, ES made a 61.8% gap fill - so far. Ticks though are starting to slowly roll over now, though still positive.

Where do Economic Reports first hit?

I heard and saw it @ 8:30 and whatever seconds. But not 60 or more seconds later. Their economics reporter in D.C. read rate and report details as soon as they are allowed to 8:30. If you saw flash @ 8:31 your clock is off, or cable provider delays transmission for whatever reason. The...

Where do Economic Reports first hit?

Don't know about CNBC or Fox Biz, as I don't watch them, but Bloomberg TV (which is also available online) announced it right @ 8:30am. Trouble is move started by then. I got short NQ, based on a signal I had, @ 8:29:21 but covered way, way too soon. "Maybe next time".

Hehe just thinking today's RTH gap will almost certainly not get filled anytime soon - way larger than a typical one. Unless all major shorts start their weekend early.

    ES Journal - 2021/2022

I went short right before report release based on a TD Sequential Sell signal only to get out (don't ask me why) with a measly 15 NQ points before it waterfalled down. Damn

Heavily Shorting USDJPY since last week friday and stopped!

Here in the U.S. we call that ... moving the goalposts. Whatever. Higher again today.

A reminder of what happened last month and which is very often the case on CPI/NFP/FED days, the first move is usual a fake-out:-

    TA is BS?

The inevitable slid into TA works because it is self-reinforcing because the crowd uses it, especially so when said about Elliott Waves. Yet, as I have posted a few times before EWT did not exist in the time of the 1929 crash, still somehow it worked in retrospect before Elliott...
