Channel target looks like around 94.15? ADD: Gotta break 60-min 20 EMA resistance first.

Seriously, it feels like I'm playing rock, paper, scissors during consolidation zones :p

I like that, Vis, but why such a large stop? I usually treat a setup like that as a breakout with a .10 stop. However, I'm definitely a scalper; 60+ tick runs are rather rare for me, except on very strong trend days.

Usually they're fake, though, and they vanish at the last second and price flies right through the level. I often position myself ahead of them by .10 or so and if they're real and price hangs there, I'm outta there.

    CL Redux

I was watching that too and a chunk of that size was eaten up with real orders. I expected it to just disappear when price got there. The fact it was for real seemed to spark the drop. Sure got me focused on the short side! My internet went wonky, so I'm now afraid to trade until we get it...

Anyone else trade with a blood presure cuff?

The very act of messing with a BP cuff and checking my BP while scalping CL might cause a stroke :p

Why Fat is the Preferred Fuel for Human Metabolism

Please provide studies showing whole foods vegans have low B12. I've been vegan over 6 years and have had my blood tested every 6 months at the least. My B12 is smack dab in the middle of the healthy range, my calcium and protein levels are HIGHER than most of my meat/dairy-eating friends who...

    Developing an edge...

I don't know their flow or how to monitor it, but I do know that certain setups in my time frame work again and again. They are trend-following setups and trend reversal signals. I assume that if traders are willing to pay more or sell for less than the last group of traders comprising a...

    A simple price action approach

A brief interlude from PA to address gurus and unsuspecting buyers: Anyone selling an actual trading system should be suspect. If you have a solid trading system you would never sell it because you're making a lot of money with your system and you'd risk diluting your edge by selling it...

On the short where you got b/e, here's how I manage such a trade. It's the first reversal move following the channeling uptrend, so you watch price react to each potential profit target level. First you want to see price break the previous pivot low around 4:30, which it does. Then you watch...

    A simple price action approach

There are two aspects to a breakout: 1) the strength of the initial break, and 2) what price does after the initial break. In the instrument I trade, CL, (and I noticed this in 6E as well), price should break a key level (previous H/L, shelf/floor of a triangle formation, TL of a flag) with...

    A simple price action approach

There's no such thing. One trade you'll finesse an exit and get out a tick or two from a turning point and believe you've now become a trading god; then later you do the same thing and leave 20 or more ticks on the table. The key to keeping your trading ego in prime condition is to make sure...

    A simple price action approach

Yes, I'd likely re-enter long again, assuming the classic Al Brooks' "failed failure" setup would cover my losses :p I do have a very specific definition of "quickly" when a next key level in line fails to break with conviction. What I do if a level break is weak is I trail my stop a couple...

    A simple price action approach

So I would've been stopped both long and short? dv, this is what I did every day for many many months (and still do several days a week), taking notes every step of the way. It's the best way to develop a trading plan and rules for trade management, which then takes the emotion out of...

That last bar is small, meaning low risk stop placement, so I'd go long and look to reverse short a break of the previous bar's low.

    A simple price action approach

Yes, definitely long a break of that last bar's high. There are trapped shorts based on the previous few bars' PA and we should at least get a move to test previous R. If price tests previous R, watch very carefully for a stop run (that's where all the shorts will likely have their stops). Since...

    A simple price action approach

Well, there's a nice argument for stopping and reversing when a trend reversal signal appears  The setup now doesn't have a lot of clarity for me. I'd normally look to buy a break of that last bar's high, but that 6th bar back was some serious selling off the new high, and buying a...
  20. NoDoji

    A simple price action approach

Yes, I'm long a break of the second to last bar's high with a profit target being a break of the previous high. As much as I'd like to hold for move to the upper channel line, the last high didn't make it that far, so I'd be watching closely to see if there was increasing buying strength on the...
