    Not getting in....the right choice

Standing aside and waiting for more clarity is wise. Sometimes when you do this, you may miss a very strong move. Then you face the very real temptation to "get back" what you missed instead of patiently waiting for the next valid setup to appear out of the clarity that was expressed by the...

    ES Journal Archive (2011)

Feng, you need to put in the time to come up with a "this works more often than not" trading plan. When you figure out your own plan, you'll be more comfortable with it and more likely to follow it than if someone hands you their plan and says "Just do this." Sometimes S/R holds and sometimes...

What realistic annual % return you expect?

Swing trading returns will likely be smaller than day trading returns because your size is smaller (relative to your account) to limit overnight risk, or if you swing trade larger size, you'll likely do some hedging to limit overnight risk and hedging costs money. Day trading returns can be...

Why Fat is the Preferred Fuel for Human Metabolism

A few of the reasons I exclude animal foods from my diet are a) they provide no nutrients I'm not getting from plant foods, b) they're contain more than 15% calories from fat, c) they concentrate toxins from their contaminated environment and the contaminated feed they live on, d) animal...

I already addressed this. Do you only read small pieces of what people post?

Why Fat is the Preferred Fuel for Human Metabolism

MG, you bring a smile to my face every time I read your posts :) BTW, I sent you a PM recently regarding 6E chat. Here's a pretty informative article about complex carbs as an optimal energy source. Looks like it's a wise idea to eat a bowl of barley before trading your wheat, corn and...

    Why do you trade?

Yes, all by hand. When you do manual bar-by-bar backtesting (revealing one closed price bar at a time and making a decision at the hard right edge based on your rules), the results you get are extremely close to the results you get in reality (there's some slippage in live trading, but it...

Why Fat is the Preferred Fuel for Human Metabolism

MG, I make no assumptions; I simply studied the scientific evidence following my cancer diagnosis and have continued to study it ever since (I'm a nutritional mentor for clients of a certified nutritionist). The overwhelming evidence points to a whole-foods plant based diet with 15% or less...

    Why do you trade?

I'd venture that 99.9% of failed traders did fairly well at times. Successful trading involves doing consistently well. What do you think a mentor can provide in terms of what to look for and how to trade it once you recognize it, that you can't get from studying comprehensive book such as...

Did Media Blow Greek Smoke Up Your Rectum? Is It Time To Short Yet?

Flaws: No R:R defined No filters defined If you only do this with stocks that gap up on news affecting future performance (raised guidance or biotech positive results), and you place a stop loss on these trades that's half or less your profit target, it should produce consistent...

    A simple price action approach

Yes I would. In fact, because the previous support zone happens to be at almost the same price as the falling 20 EMA and the near-term uptrend trend has broken, I would likely have had a standing offer to sell somewhere in there, hoping for a fill. The 20 EMA is a mobile S/R, so I can't tell...

Did Media Blow Greek Smoke Up Your Rectum? Is It Time To Short Yet?

I went through a phase of counter-trend trading and realized over time that the majority of my trades went on an adverse excursion that was on average quite a bit further away than my eventual profit. When something happens a majority of the time over a period of time that includes varying...

    Pull back vs reversal

You can never be sure about the outcome of any trade. But there are price footprints that place the odds in your favor over time.

    Why do you trade?

If you wanted to hire someone to trade your money, the reason you should hire me is because I trade using a written trading plan that's proven itself profitable through varying market conditions for over a year. I like a business where, if I apply the rules of my plan, I produce a steady...

    Pull back vs reversal

That may be a potential reversal signal but it's not a "pullback". The OP wants to know how to distinguish pullbacks in a trend from trend reversals.

    Why do you trade?

$6000+/month in expenses to pay for. I have great pattern recognition skills and had my face smashed into the sidewalk enough times that I woke up and learned how to treat trading like a business.

    2011: Rebuilding My Battered Account

Hindsight isn’t required to trade using technical price action 101 and earnings-based fundamentals. Fundamentally, NKE beats earnings and raises guidance. Raised guidance is a buy signal for institutional investors, and institutional investors move price. Technically, NKE opens gapped above...

Why Fat is the Preferred Fuel for Human Metabolism

"Microorganisms, primarily bacteria, are the only known organisms that manufacture B12. These bacteria often live in bodies of water and soil. Animals get B12 by eating food and soil contaminated with these microorganisms." The reason we don't get B12 from soil and water is because we don't...

    A simple price action approach

Your 3:45 long was edgy because price had the mobile resistance of a falling 20 EMA to contend with as well as previous support that could now become resistance since the trend line broke. What I do if I put on a trade like that is I scratch the trade if price fails to break through the 20 EMA.
