Al Brooks Trading Best Pice Action

Tell you what, if I give a guy $47 and in return I get an ATM card and PIN number for an account that gets replenished with $1000 or more every day, I don't care if he lives in a cardboard box, smells like a dung heap, and owes $10 million in back taxes; I'll enjoy the gift as long as it lasts...

Al Brooks Trading Best Pice Action

That was back when I started trading CL in April 2010.

It's pretty clear from your post that you have no idea how many lots I trade.

Al Brooks Trading Best Pice Action

True, if you don't have a complete plan, the ability to follow it, and at least $20K per contract traded, don't even consider trading CL. For anyone thinking of believing the negative Brooks' posts on this site, his price action tactics are golden. GOLDEN. Take the 3-6 months necessary to...

    CL Redux

I would guess most of us, having traded this animal non-stop all year, are finally taking some time off for a decent shower. Tobbe, I'll be dropping by around lunchtime for some of that kale you have stashed away :D

I second that, especially trading Brooks' tactics. 6E is also fantastic.

Al Brooks Trading Best Pice Action

After reading Brooks the first time I embarked on a months-long research and development journey to create a well-defined trading plan. As a 1-lot trader, I too had to work through the strategies to fit them to my comfort level. Moving stops to BE too soon is a habit that can ruin you...

Day traders pls quit while you can

Why do you have to be on the right side of the move every time or most of the time? Earlier this month I was on the right side of the move 8 times out of 29 trades and netted 212 ticks ($10/tick).

JunkiBondKing, If you can't day trade and you want to learn how to do so, ask in a nice way for help here on ET and it will be given freely, as very much help was given to me and many others here when we were starting out. If you're an accomplished trader and have proof that standard price...

Day traders pls quit while you can

You are correct, I am quite new, having never traded before 2008. However, in the 2 years since I learned to trade price action, certain price patterns have resulted in minimum price moves with such a high rate of positive expectancy that I believe programmed trading has to be responsible...

    Consistency is my goal

This is easy to recognize after the fact, often again and again, yet sometimes seems near impossible to break through. It took me months to fill the deep groove worn in the road by my bad habits with good habits so that I could take profitable trips on the smooth highway of my trading plan...

Day traders pls quit while you can

You can definitely let a good trade ride while day trading and you can press the pedal to the metal. SteveH trades this way and explains that you can start with low initial risk and leverage your gains to ride a well-defined trending move intraday:

Day traders pls quit while you can

It's not gambling if the full loss on the option position is the amount you're willing to risk. As a buyer, you can't lose more than your premium + commissions. On the other hand, with a futures position you may think you only lose what you risk (your stop loss level) but if you're holding a...

Day traders pls quit while you can

What size account did you trade to make $400K on a single swing trade over a few days? What was the instrument traded and the size of the trade? Was it a trade (stock trade) where you were at any risk of losing just as big or bigger in the event of a gap against you? If you don't have the...

I have a problem (RE: Competition / Price Action / Swing Trades / Reversals )

I do exactly what Al Brooks' book (Reading Price Charts Bar By Bar) taught me to do. There are no big secrets I can reveal. I recently read through Brooks' book again and realized that every strategy in my trading plan is pure Brooks. I definitely look at the S/R in my time frame to determine...

The bots (programmed trading) make day trading predictable and profitable if you take the time necessary to learn to recognize the price footprints that trigger them.

I have a problem (RE: Competition / Price Action / Swing Trades / Reversals )

When a setup appears normally you place the order to enter the trade and manage the trade from there. That's a 1st entry. A 2nd entry means you watch price react at the level that you'd normally place the order, knowing that far more often than not price makes an adverse excursion off these...

I have a problem (RE: Competition / Price Action / Swing Trades / Reversals )

I day trade on a 5-min time frame with 1-min trend continuation triggers, so it works fine for me to simply follow my particular plan. However, I do sometimes trade options for swing trades.

I have a problem (RE: Competition / Price Action / Swing Trades / Reversals )

If you trade price action, what do tops and bottoms have to do with anything? Can you elaborate a bit by posting a chart where you saw a trade setup for one of your "best trades" but you hesitated and missed it? If you're scared of price hitting your stop, then the trade is either outside...

    CL Redux

EON, I think you were right, a big institutional stop run perhaps, because this is a pretty deep retrace here? Add: Seems like if all you did was buy 100 cars any time it breaks 100.00, you'd only have to trade a few times a year and would have a nice 6-figure income
