Can taking Drugs Enhancer make you a Better Trader?

Harshly worded but a sound caution. There’s quite a bit of talk about “micro-dosing” - but in the world of illicit drugs you have no way of knowing the true efficacy and proper dose of what you’re taking. I heard Jordan Peterson say in a podcast that a certain percentage of people who take...

Red Wing, Iconic U.S. Shoe Maker, Labors Mightily to Bring Production Home

It’s been my personal experience over the past couple decades that the US-made New Balance shoes don’t fall apart in six months time as compared to the Chinese-made NB. Obviously other customers concur because NB manufactures their top tier finished shoes in the US and in the UK. I’m sure...

If that’s the case - why are you so intent on using free data with indicators for which you have no idea the study sampling rates and conditions? You can buy clean data for cheap directly from the trading exchange. And no competent analyst uses default technical study parameters.

$50 multiplied by the S&P 500 index. Cash settled. In other words, if you hold an open position into expiry your trading account is debited or credited against the expiry final settlement and the expired contract is zeroed out. The CL contract you mentioned in your OP is physically settled...

MCD is in big trouble. May not exist in 5 years

A person sees a story or social media post that fits their own biased narrative - and they latch onto it as positive reinforcement. Happens in everything from politics to investing.

Red Wing, Iconic U.S. Shoe Maker, Labors Mightily to Bring Production Home

You’d say different if you’d trained in the Chinese made New Balance and then tried the US made New Balance. See my comments above. There’s a big difference. Better materials, superior comfort, lasts three times as long for me. The stitching at the seams will not come apart on the US made...

Red Wing, Iconic U.S. Shoe Maker, Labors Mightily to Bring Production Home

I’ve never ordered it personally. If you buy the US or UK made shoes you are also getting proprietary sole shock absorber materials in the sole that doesn’t compress over time. That is unique for the US and UK made line. For me, it had been SO much better than spending $75 every six months...

Red Wing, Iconic U.S. Shoe Maker, Labors Mightily to Bring Production Home

Well maybe Red Wing needs to visit the US New Balance factory. New Balance makes 33 shoe models entirely in the United States. New Balance manufactures 9 models in the UK. And they last a very long time - been through three pair in ten years, same model. I paid between $110 to $135 at a New...

Can taking Drugs Enhancer make you a Better Trader?

I think that creativity in markets is somewhat innate. Most creative edges that I’ve seen from various traders did NOT come from technical analysis revelations. They seem to spawn from an unusually high level of insight regarding market microstructure - things like external market correlated...

Defining a Strong vs Weak Trend

Golden nuggets: 1. Use longer sampling timeframes when you are modeling for trend, and 2. In a Bullish market, you want to see higher highs and higher lows. Conversely in a Bearish market, you want to see lower lows and lower highs. 3. For maximum resolution - always check the Weekly...

No, if you have a good track record on a notable commercial or spec desk with references that would do nicely.

I agree 100%. These days an MS with a strong statistical modeling and programming emphasis will get you MUCH further. But since the OP has commercial Sugar trading experience and he wants to stay in that space I think graduate school may not be a priority.

Anyone know a good place to start for Commodity jobs in Chicago?

Well, if you are trading at an upper tier commodities desk - you are trading OTC products and physical bilateral; and NO independent trader has the bonafides and capital to play in those arenas.

Anyone know a good place to start for Commodity jobs in Chicago?

The challenge is that GS and the other IB's are closing down their commodity desks - so there's a surplus of experienced talent looking at the moment. With your current Sugar trading experience I would contact a Chicago financial industry headhunter. Louis Dreyfus and Glencore would be at the...
