    Sugar

The health food crowd seems to believe Stevia is the best of the sugar substitutes, however I prefer the taste of Splenda. In recent years there has been the rise of Monk Fruit extract for diabetic candies (ChocZero uses it in all their products).

Chicago PMI falls nuch more than expected.

I don't know exactly what PMI measures but it seems to mirror the markets rise or fall with a month lag. Markets bottomed in Oct 2022 & peaked in Feb/Mar 2023 & August 2023. It seems like a sentiment gauge.

Reddit User Risks And Loses $600,000 Inherited Home That Didn't Fully Belong To Him

He is a cult hero on r/WSB. The autists on WSB love large loss porn.

Elite, what are your views concerning these pairs

Newton was notoriously a terrible stock trader. He lost tons of money during the bubble of his time -- the South Sea Bubble I believe. I remember reading he would buy in right at the top. Scientists are bad risk taking in general.

Tech millionaire drives as slow as 16 MPH in LA to avoid death.

Going slow is no guarantee of living especially in LA. You could piss someone off by going slow and they might ram you from behind with their Navigator or Escalade. Best thing is to outsource all driving duties to a chauffeur.

    This Aaron Rodgers is Done

It seems like what happened in Romo's last season. Dallas could have played Romo in the playoff game but went with Prescott instead. Romo was pretty brittle by then so one big hit and he would've gone down. I think Rodgers can make a comeback but he'll probably be like Peyton towards the end --...

What i wish for superbowl 23

I don't even recognize the modern NFL. I started watching the NFL in 1974 where great lineman ruled the game play which is why Air Coryell was a revolution in the early 1980s. Too much attention to snowflake QBs who can't get hurt or the NFL's chances of making ad money. I guess that explains...

The SEC Wants to Spy on Your Portfolio

The SEC is a joke. I don't even know why its still around. The current head of the SEC is too busy trying to make sure that a BTC spot ETF never sees the light of day. I guess he doesn't have time to check the markets for malfeasance. Let's face it if you were good at data analysis, why would...

The largest hedge fund managers 2023

Looks like the law of large numbers has caught up with Bridgewater. Hard to believe RenTech did so badly. I guess without Simons they aren't as good.

America’s Billionaires Love Japanese Stocks. Why Don’t the Japanese?

It doesn't mention which ETF to use for retail, however I noticed DXJ has done much better than EWJ especially in the last few month. DXJ is hedged against Yen while EWJ is basically the Nikkei in USD terms. I doubt the JCB will want a stronger Yen going forward so DXJ should do well.

Just off the top of your head, what do you think of when you hear the term "hell-bent"

Its a term I heard on old US western movies. I believe it is suppose to mean you will do everything in your power to accomplish the task at hand. In the original Star Trek TV series season 3 episode 6 entitled Spectre Of The Gun the Dr. McCoy character uses it to describe the Earp gang (the...

Best time ever: UVXY TZA SOXS SQQQ

It all depends on the TLT & UUP levels. TLT looks oversold & UUP looks overbought so it could reverse anytime. Another strange phenomenon is the rise of Oil in the face of a huge USD rally. I have to believe that Oil rising without Copper rising means even Oil looks heavy. Or it could be the...

Zelenskiy Meets With Ken Griffin, Bill Ackman in Bid for Funds to Rebuild Ukraine

Just another corrupt grifter from the EE. Next on the 2023 Tour for the drag queen in chief is getting money from the dumb Canadians.

Fed economists sound alarm on hedge funds gaming US Treasuries

Yes taxing is the problem. Why don't you try to run for President on the "We will tax everyone more" platform and see if that gets you elected. You live in GaGa Land.

    Europe Pushing Ahead

There is no train culture in the west coast of America. The northeast is a different story. People take the train from Connecticut to Manhattan. I lived in central New Jersey as a kid in the 1970s and my dad used to take a train to the city. California? Too much open space for these trains to...

    YieldMax ETFs

CCRV seems like just a managed commodity fund. TSLY is an amazing dividend machine. YTD it has $7.36 in dividends and its current price is $14.31 -- that's a 9 month yield of 51%. It must be from collecting premiums from the 0DTE junkies.

Hope for Economic Mess in Argentina

Libertarianism is not a long term strategy but its got to be better than the Peronists who destroyed Argentina. Ultimately, like other failed states, the real problem is the voting public who wants endless handouts but no responsibilities. This is true in Turkey, Russia, Pakistan, etc.

    Tinnitus

I've had it since January 1991 when I went to a concert in SF (Belgian Techno band Front 242). I was too close to the mammoth speakers. I think it took me about 6 months to get used to it. It helps if you live in a noisy urban area. It doesn't really bother me any more.

What's Your favorite frozen dinner or food?

[Caveat that I am Indian.] The Samosas at Trader Joe's are mostly tasteless, but it is made for westerners not Indians. The best samosas (and pakoras) are usually the ones in Indian buffets.

Roaring Kitty movie coming out, Dumb Money

What a cry baby this Ken Griffin is. Shades of Citizen Kane when the publishing magnate was pissed off at his portrayal in the film.
