thats obvious to anyone that knows anything about trading.. efficient market theory would have you buying the index.. hasn't aapl underperformed the market this year... wouldn't that mean that being as it that aapl will hold up well in a bigger market correct you would wanna be short market long...

thinking about this... VIXY DEC 21 '12 - (2) 17 + (1) 19 + (1) 14 Put Combo for .05 to .10 cents say you buy ten of them.. its a 5 dollar bet.. with five hundred in margin... with a possible payout of up to 2 dollars... just figure on at most 1.50 cause no one usually gets full...

or this.. hard to make time go by and mess with the individual implied volatility assumptions of each leg.. you know whatever happens..... nov will implode.. dec should flatten out a little.. the whole term structure curve will lay down in the front months.. poof vols gone!.. a sort of domino...

remember you might be able to acess functions .. but you can't dig through the hoadley code.. its behind a password.. anything across the term structure is really tough to model in Hoadley.. maybe i need to spend time with it.. or maybe i just did it wrong.. of course theres always think or...

I don't like open ended shorts... risk reversal... of course switches have just as much blow out risk if not more.. What's the short future long call like.. or short Calender with puts... can you fly to your target?.. gotta define risk in my account

Umm you can get that kinda leverage...deep otm broken wing fly... buy far enough out such that your only paying cents with a potential 15-25 dollar pay out... sick leverage... haha..

They say odds are in your favor not calling reversals.. but whatever you pick your saying there is or isn't one coming at some time frame. . This is a shake out ... such a pre earnings pre iPhone 5 run up... if there wasn't a good correction I really would be worried.. who knows though all...
