My first question is.. why are you worried about a 10% draw down on an outright premium purchase. The premium paid is your stop... this an earnings play or a pre earnings play? With this you have to have a time frame and an exit strategy... are you doing what ifs on delta and implied vol...

There are so many ways to answer that question....changing your view once in a trade usually only gets ya whip sawed.... be explicit on the view the underlying. The strike etc

goog on the radar.. perfect huge event gone wrong.. lots of moving positions around.. pricing all over the place.. no one knows whats next.. looks great for a opex trade..

totally gonna watch Goog tommorrow for an opex trade..

oh and by the way.. you can't get into alot of options directly adding tabs in the options trader.. put the symbol in the main window.. then right click and pick options trader.. thats the only way i can get the vix options to show up..

looking at trades for expiration friday... an overnight hold on a broken wing in the money fly... a directional otm fly.. or nothing.. haha.. we could easily pop up tommorrow..

go into the spread trader.. thats what you need to do... then just punch in CL.. specify the months.. and how many months you wanna see.. IE 1 month is nov/dec dec/jan etc etc.. two months is those plus Nov/jan dec/feb etc etc..

i've got the details situated in my IB account... IB it actually shows the months.. the symbols are secondary.. they don't even show the symbols when you go to trade.. all months multipliers and buy or sells.

easier if you just talked in terms of feb/march haha.. i have to look up the symbols everytime you talk haha.. seems like a good trade on a front month spike.. gotta wait for an edge and put in screen time
