    order priority

The futures exchanges publish their order matching procedures as exchange circulars or technical bulletins. http://ftp.cmegroup.com/globex/introduction/features-and-functionality/elements/matching-algorithms.html http://www.cmegroup.com/globex/files/SDKFFMessageSpecs.pdf They are...

    Lease seat / Co-locate

I know of two trading groups located within the CME building who get picked off on Nymex and CBOT and CME arbitrage on a regular basis. There appears to be a bit more complexity to the HFT game than first blush appearances. In 2008, I saw an ICE to Nymex Arb group get picked apart - and...

Your perception of what happened in the market today is... well... flawed. Where, praytell, is that big bad bear in today's price action ?

    Futures spread trading

If you have access to the OTC cash market it would be nice. I don't like the liquidity ( lack of ) for the CBOT contracts. You need to be watching Nat Gas as well, since that is an integral component for that spread's production matrix in terms of the crush costs.

    Brent/WTI Spread

Use the ICE exchange supported spread. Best way to do it.

    Lease seat / Co-locate

You're going to have to switch platforms. The expense to do it properly in terms of dedicated lines and the server are likely prohibitive. I know guys in the CME building who get picked off, BTW.

    Harris Brumfield...

His brother Frank is an excellent yield curve spread trader, and I stood next to his brother Hardy in the Note Pit in the new building ( later 90's ). Harris was an excellent electronic spread trader as well, especially with the DTB first coming online in Chicago in the 90's. Harris made...

For scalpers the past few years, or even for spread traders trading for a single tic perhaps. There are independent traders here in Chicago making very, very good livings trading the US yield curve. If one is playing in the same timeframe as RSJ or Getco, then it could be difficult. The...

    Futures: Most margin & Commission

Actually, my clients lease TT or CTS on a transactional basis through a few different major Chicago FCMs. And it is a smoking hot deal. Nice to be subsidized by scalpers !

    Futures: Most margin & Commission

The issues my clients have had with Velocity in the past at least is logging into more than one exchange at a time with a TT license. And spread traders need all kinds of exchange product access - multiple electronic market access on a simultaneous basis is our lifeblood.

    We Have Topped

You are spot on. I mentioned it as a target. I cannot call tops or bottoms, and quite frankly most of us are fortunate that it is not a requirement to be a successful trader.

    We Have Topped

But that is the point - he truly sucks arse with long term technical analysis as well. I called for 1370 in the ES months ago, and I'm a wacky spread trader. Stevie Wonder could look at a Weekly or Monthly chart and called the market better than that embarassing fool. Has he no respect...

    Futures: Most margin & Commission

Does it really matter ? If your strategy is that thin in terms of margin and slippage, then why not just lease a seat and pay member rates... That's where the savings is quite frankly. And I have heard nothing but dread from retail punters cutting someone's throat for a nickel or so.

If you keep saying it twice every day for three months, it will eventually become true. I find nothing particularly worthy in terms of your tradecraft skills, and your technical analysis skills quite frankly suck. If we close down for the day, please declare victory and stop embarassing...

Well, at least you are showing a snippet of humility. Look at any chart you want - cash, futures, whatever. Make it consolidated or continuous or whatever. Switch to a monthly timeframe. Ask the same question. Then get a bit more humility. You have been saying this market is...

Favor us with your consice and lucid explanation for exactly what is an "intra bullish chop warning" ? This is a first, and should be thoroughly documented. Murphy may want to add this to his next revision.
