    Otm options are typically more liquid.... Buying the strangle comes at a large cost so I might think to go extremely otm just to reduce margin req otherwise you might just short the straddle only

    I would believe the Fed more speculates then anything.. I think i would worry more about how much control they actually have in the longer run.. All i read is very Austrian in nature so I tend to follow the idea that intervention leads to more intervention.. Maybe within the context of FED...

    if you can't buy spread options , then it's really tough to be long the volatility of those spreads, as the spread can go negative and positive in volatile events.. i think this is essentially what im getting at
