    Colocating

Unless the algo is specifically targetting the trading of news events, it would be prudent to turn it off. News events typically cause markets to go into a yo-yo set of moves that is targetted at true price discovery.

    Interested in algo prop?

Definitely interested here.....but the problem is: there are no algo prop shops. Do you propose establishing one ?

Legal Action against a prop arcade?

Without a system or proven technique/strategy, you should just quit right now. The market moves with such randomness at times, you'll just get chopped to pieces.

    What kind of system are you employing ? What's your average time-in-trade ? : 2 seconds, 2 minutes, 2 hours, 2 days ?

UK trader arrested for May 2010 U.S. Stock market flash crash

This it totally wrong. A guy by the name of Harry Markopolos took him down. http://www.cbsnews.com/news/the-man-who-figured-out-madoffs-scheme-27-02-2009/ Harry is a member of the ACFE and is a professional forensic accountant specializing in financial industry fraud.

UK trader arrested for May 2010 U.S. Stock market flash crash

My bet is that he was not the actual whistleblower. Notice how even he could not conclude that Nav's trading had contributed significantly to the flash crash.

UK trader arrested for May 2010 U.S. Stock market flash crash

Careful....remember a whistleblower was required to take Bernie Madoff down.....the US government definitely could not do it.

UK trader arrested for May 2010 U.S. Stock market flash crash

Agreed, but the reason is likely due to all of the evidence presented by the whistleblower....and of course, the millions of dollars involved....and finally the claims that his activity was "illegal". The whistleblower was key in taking Nav down. We'll likely never know who that person is.

UK trader arrested for May 2010 U.S. Stock market flash crash

Once again, if he was really smart, it would have been in the name of a relative, etc. In addition, how can the authorities search for his name ? Visit every bank n the Cayman's ?

UK trader arrested for May 2010 U.S. Stock market flash crash

Yep, they really made it impossible for him to get out of jail....it's catch-22. I wonder why he can't have an associate or attorney in the islands extract the funds. Surely, they don't have EVERY ONE of his accounts frozen. Hopefully, he used a second name like a shell corporation for some of...

http://www.marketwatch.com/story/uk-flash-crash-trader-im-only-guilty-of-being-good-at-my-job-2015-05-06?dist=lcountdown Poor Nav - the USA has screwed him totally by the asset freeze order. Now he can't make bail and definitely won't be able to make a run for it. Apparently he must post the...

UK trader arrested for May 2010 U.S. Stock market flash crash

Duffy is blaming everyone except.....HIMSELF....and for a good reason. The CME Group can easily stop laying and spoofing with their order-matching software. But they refuse to do it because of potential loss of fee income. The problem is: the CFTC is too stupid to understand or figure this out...

CME Suspends Traders for Alleged Sarao-Like Manipulation

re: "the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, last year said CME was taking too long to complete investigations of improper trading." This is all a load of BS....actually this is actual "spoofing" by the CME Group ! They are spoofing the regulators....this is so crazy. Why did they not...

    Hedge funds using TradeStation/MultiCharts?

I want to backtest my algo but I need a few years of tick-level data that has been scrubbed for "bad ticks". Looking for Emini gold, oil, NQ, ES, and Dow futures. Must always be front-month contract data. Who sells this data ? I am sure the CME Group does....for a fortune.

Can anyone explain what this guy was doing?

For discretionary traders, a definite yes. If they could not detect this pattern say after a month or so, then they were not very observant. Now for Bots....it's not so simple. The trading logic usually has been developed over a long period of time and backtested. If something new happens, the...
