    The recent bank bailouts —

They made no bets but apparently don't understand what $250,000 of FDIC protection is. Is $250,000 a synonym for $infinity? If not then they got a bail out. Its very simple. How about those idiots at Roku? Do you think they know the difference between $486 million & $250,000? It appears they...

Any OG traders remember these stocks ?

You forgot the incredibly volatile and king of vaporware Commerce One. They were at the top of the B2B industry -- whatever that meant at the time is a mystery. I remember I had a friend who went to work for them and at the height of the bubble her options were worth than $8 million but she...

This is a “ take the money and run “ market

I think the regional banking crisis is slowing down and really only PACW & FRC are still in risk. I have friends that work at FRC and they told me the deposit flight has slowed down. PacWest will probably survive but I'm not sure about FRC. Assuming no more problems then the KRE is a steal like...

Which bank stocks are you buying?

I wouldn't own a banks here. I don't know about European banks but here in the US there are a lot of banks that have severe HTM losses thanks to poor interest rate hedging & they are one rumor away from a bank run and collapse. And then there is the mystery of SCHW collapsing immediately and...

Which bank stocks are you buying?

Since the start of the regional banking crisis I noticed the energy stocks have cratered along with WTI & Brent. OIH has gone from $330 to $250+. Maybe there is a correlation to KRE after all.

The stock market is higher now since the $SIVB failure

Strangely the Regional Banking crisis just helped the QQQ rocketship go higher. Looks like all that matters is there is still growth in the tech sector and the rates keep going lower. Just now the Fed said there is only one more rate hike coming this year so the QQQ rocketship will continue. I...

ARKK, continually trying to stay afloat

A snark thread with all the haters represented yet ARKK is up 26% YTD and NYSE FANG+ Index is up 33% YTD. TARK up 50% & FNGU up 110% YTD.

how is crypto going to respond to the end of the QE era?

That's why they need endless wars to divert the public, with the added benefit of inflation to reduce their real debt. It won't work since the promised debt obligation is too massive to ever achieve. The US Empire is on its last days and will most likely split into multiple countries post 2033.

    Bitcoin Price Thread

This seems to make sense for now at least, however it is still possible that cryptos are rising as a delayed reaction the FANG+ index rise due to the collapse in the US 10 Year yield. I mean it doesn't really matter since Gold itself is rising due to the same reason -- falling rates and the...

FAZ finance bear 3x strong on SVB news

Deja Vu. After the collapse of some of the mREITS I used to own in November 2007, I was trying to figure out what was good short instrument and I remember reading on the Yahoo! Forums about a new company that was selling leveraged ETFs -- ProShares. They had a -2X Financials ETF called SKF...

The Capitalists Will Sell Us the Rope with Which We Will Hang

Yeah that was Dennis Levine, one of the bag boys for Milken & Boesky. Den Of Thieves was a great book. The best book about the Drexel, Burnham, Lambert mafia especially the Beverly Hills division where Milken had his yearly conference to see which company they could LBO next was Connie Bruck's...

Credit rating firms are completely worthless...

The auditors along with the thieves known as CRAs should have been sued to bankruptcy after 2009. After admitting that they scammed millions of people by giving phony ratings to worthless CDOs they just paid 1 year's profit and went on their merry way I'm sure thanks to that scamming grandpa...

This is a “ take the money and run “ market

Just sell the losers from the KRE whenever it gaps up. Nobody would be stupid enough to hold these regionals overnight except for the WSB YOLO crowd. FRC WAL & PACW are constantly getting killed intraday. I think HBAN is a dog as well. Massive HTM losses YTD.

SVB is not a canary in the banking coal mine

The sad truth here in the SF Bay Area, if you aren't outwardly woke you will be banished eventually so it is just the price for doing business in a clueless electorate here who vote for people who spend years trying to change the name of "racist" elementary school names. Oh and don't forget...

MARKETS First Republic shares are sliding again Monday after a credit rating downgrade

The only way to stem the tide in these flailing banks is to guarantee all deposits to infinity forever. Not very palatable but that would shore up confidence.

Credit Suisse Implodes, UBS Takes Over

Who would have thought the champions of "Democracy" and supposed "neutral" country would violate all their tenets of existence to pull off this nonsense. Single-handedly destroyed the CoCo market as well. Is there any value in "owning" stock in Switzerland anymore?

FRC -is deal with JP Morgan Chase a done deal

Why bother catching a falling knife? Most likely it continues to go lower along with the rest of the XLF & KRE companies. If its not affected by the current crisis why is the stock still down 27%? It went from $76 to $45 in a blink of an eye.

    Bitcoin Price Thread

Is BTC going higher because the depositors in the regional banks have wised up and moved their money or is it a safe haven move like Silver & Gold?

Credit Suisse is now worth less than Crocs

SNB gave them $54 billion and the stock is unchanged? Wow that is not a good sign, but here in the SF bay area First Republic Bank (FRC) has gotten multiple cash infusions to stabilize their deposit base and it still acts very nervous going up and down 20% on a whim.

    Bitcoin Price Thread

Is the rise in BTC just people transferring their bank deposits to Bitcoin/Ethereum? Interesting move for sure. I bought Mar 14 straddle at $14. $14 puts -45%, $14 calls up ~700%.
