    FTX files chapter 11

As opposed to ZERO for these crypto firms? Really? Fun questions: What do you feel is an appropriate ratio of liabilities to capital? Do ANY of the insurance companies you deal with in your life meet that standard? How does the loss ratio of the organizations I listed (SIPC, NCUA, etc)...

    FTX files chapter 11

Why do people who have no idea how traditional finance works feel the need to write this insane nonsense? My shares are in a customer segregated account which is also covered by outside insurance. In traditonal finance, there is typically an umbrella organization that protects customers, even...

So I hear Chinese stocks, ADRs, are down an absolute ton... time to get in?

Hahahahahahahaha! Sorry, but no way, no how. You're begging to get ripped off. I would not touch Chinese stocks with a 10 foot pole. https://www.institutionalinvestor.com/article/b1rgryc7qgc7t9f/The-Rage-of-Carson-Block Read some of Carson Block's research on various Chinese entities. I've...

Is there anything i can do to get around the PDT rule?

How does that protect me from people that are seemingly able to cheat at will at the highest level of the system? Even if I start a broker dealer I still have to deal with DTCC. If you were familiar with what happened with Gamestop, you'd remember that DTCC came to Robinhood with new capital...

Is there anything i can do to get around the PDT rule?

I'm not sure what your problem is, but look at the IV on 1-27-2021. https://www.alphaquery.com/stock/GME/volatility-option-statistics/10-day/iv-mean Even "plebes" understand that means you're not going to be able to buy cheap options. Then there's also the issue that certain options trading...

Is there anything i can do to get around the PDT rule?

Oh yeah? And what were those options trading for at the time where brokerages literally told customers they could only sell and not buy? What was the premium you would have had to pay to do that above and beyond what it would have cost to just simply buy a stock? ( Except that you weren't...

Why are TIPS bonds only paying about 2⅓% when inflation is at 7.9%?

The is a way the get that up to $15k by overpaying taxes and taking a 5k ibond as a refund.

    Bottom fishing...Amazon

Capex has already come down https://csimarket.com/stocks/single_growth_rates.php?code=AMZN&capx But the year is still negative https://csimarket.com/stocks/single_growth_rates.php?code=AMZN&net

    Bottom fishing...Amazon

The number of warehouses is irrelevant. I'm looking at shareholder returns. I'm not a real estate broker trying to sell them land. I don't doubt that the overall size of the company will grow.... But do you really believe it's going to grow to more than 4X it's current size any time soon...

    Bottom fishing...Amazon

At a p/e of 89.32 buying Amazon isn't bottom fishing anything. IMO these gigantic companies simply can't be valued like growth stocks.

    iBond @ 9.62% - Demand overwhelms TreasuryDirect

Yes. And before 5 years there's a 3 month penalty. My point is that even if you average 9.62 with some other non negative rate it's going to be better than 2 freaking percent for a 6 month CD that someone else mentioned.

    iBond @ 9.62% - Demand overwhelms TreasuryDirect

For now I bonds are a good deal. Even if the rates go down to zero in the future and you have to take the 3 month interest penalty to get out, I don't see how you could do better by making only 2-3% in a 6 month CD. https://www.treasurydirect.gov/savings-bonds/i-bonds/i-bonds-interest-rates/

    INTC (Intel) has bottomed

Actually, we do. Don't like the price? Don't buy it. I don't have to let FOMO run my life. There are plenty of other things to invest in. The "market" may pay ridiculous amounts of money for things like Snapchat, but that doesn't mean it has to be treated with any more respect than a bucket...

    INTC (Intel) has bottomed

A p/e that is 4x higher than a similar competitor is "expensive". IMO giant companies should not be valued like growth stocks

    INTC (Intel) has bottomed

To me, value investing is: Is this selling for a good price? If it's a good deal, and it pays a dividend, you don't really want to sit there for months wondering and waiting to see if it goes even cheaper. I have some Intel and one thing that surprises me about Intel threads here is that there...

    Buying Treasury Notes via IBKR

You must buy I bonds direct. Not through ibkr. I believe it stops paying after 30 years. Looks unsuitable for parking 100k in to use on ibkr for margin loans.

    Buying Treasury Notes via IBKR

I bonds are max 10k investment PER YEAR. (And there is a way to get that to 15k) You can withdraw after 1 year with the loss of the most recent quarter's interest. I can't see buying regular treasuries unless you have a seriously big lump of cash coming all at once.

Fidelity holding my ask option again...

See the second post I made in that page regarding options. The case with options is less clear. Nbbo for stocks is in the cfr so it is law https://www.law.cornell.edu/cfr/text/17/242.604 Looks like at least nasdaq options market tries to comply with nbbo...

Take a look here: https://www.elitetrader.com/et/threads/fraud-broker-kind-of-frontruns-client-order-reporting-to-sec.363097/page-8#post-5498528 I dug into the rules before. It looks like the number is 30 seconds.
