Can I get a clear answer: How late can I exercise options on Friday (CRWD example)

IB's deadline is 430 pm et. Absolute OCC deadline is 530 pm et (as @poopy mentioned). Each broker will have different cutoff times to meet this 530pm OCC deadline. My broker is 515pm et with best efforts after that until 530.

GME Shenanigans Massive June call position

RoaringKitty/Deepfuckingvalue posted to Reddit last night that he is holding close to a $200 million position in GME including 120,000 June 20 calls. Stock up huge in pre market. Trying to think how this option position will play out. With my broker, I need 100% of capital for GME stock. They...

    Schwab options messed up

My guess is the quotes you were seeing were wrong. Perhaps you lost real time quotes in the transition? Or there was some other problem with the quotes you were seeing. I would think the execution was correct with the real prices.

I found that CME and CBOE and exchange fees - both attached but unable to understand CBOE fees

Interesting. I have never heard that term before. I assume a "preferenced order" is different from customer priority? Would you mind explaining/talking about a "preferenced order" a bit more? Thanks.

I found that CME and CBOE and exchange fees - both attached but unable to understand CBOE fees

I don't think that is an accurate representation. Fidelity charges .65 a contract for any option. The CBOE charges additional exchange fees for SPX options (in various amounts depending on the price of the option). Fidelity does not pass these extra exchange fees on to the customer. They...

I found that CME and CBOE and exchange fees - both attached but unable to understand CBOE fees

I thought Etrade did, but no direct knowledge. SPX options are not nearly as valuable for PFOF, since they are single listed and all trades are done on the CBOE. I have heard various things that brokers receive zero to some reduced amount from PFOF for SPX options.

I found that CME and CBOE and exchange fees - both attached but unable to understand CBOE fees

The CBOE exchange fees for the SPX depend on the price of option and whether it is SPX or SPXW. I believe the minimum is a total of .24 for cheap SPXW options up to a high of .66 (.45 plus .21 surcharge) for more expensive SPX options. So the charge isn't necessarily the maximum charge you...

    TDA -Schwab

I just want to understand what your point is, Are you saying because this change/transition was known for a long time, it doesn't make sense to worry that the mechanics of the transition would go smoothly when it is actually implemented? Software updates, back-end changes, etc. do not always...

    TDA -Schwab

This weekend is the final transition away from TD. It is reasonable that people are worried the actual transition goes smoothly, even it was known in advance. Will all settings, studies, assets, permissions, etc. be transferred correctly? Will trading be allowed at exactly the time they...

    Orders Tied To The Bid/Ask

Anyone wondering how bad it is to exceed the 390 average in options, I can tell you, from experience, it is bad. Very Bad. You will be designated a Pro Customer for the next quarter. You will lose customer priority. You will pay higher exchange fees. And worst of all, MM's will not want to...

Why can't I trade both bid and ask simultaneously?

Bob, in your opinion could a non pro customer be on both sides of an option market if the orders are routed to different exchanges? And, Would it matter if these exchanges did not give customer priority.

Cboe eyes physically-delivered VIX options for US futures traders

I assumed thats what it was. It just makes things so much more difficult. I miss the old days when you could call anyone at the CBOE and they were happy to help.

Cboe eyes physically-delivered VIX options for US futures traders

Slightly off topic, but have you had any issues when you contact the CBOE? Seems your contact was happy to give you information. Whenever I call my old contacts there, they are very hesitant to even talk to me anymore. They want me to go through my broker to ask them almost anything.
