IB shooting itself in the foot with this ad XD

Can't really recommend any broker. Since I left IB 10+y ago, I've only been working with clearing houses. But what IB is selling as "discount" is easily matched by other brokers regarding fees and frontends. Since Petterfy left IB has become a real life version of "The Office"

IB shooting itself in the foot with this ad XD

-> Because shitty customer service, laggy frontend, trash datafeed and an insanely arduous migration from IBUK I really had a good laugh.

Ok kids, playtime is over. Better get used to crypto now

USOCC allows banks to use stablecoins and public blockchains as settlement layer. Now DLT can directly compete with SWIFT, ACH and FedWire. https://www2.occ.gov/news-issuances/news-releases/2021/nr-occ-2021-2.html

The best Interest Rate Protection hedging product available for Retail Investors (TWS/IB)

Forget it. FED funds futures are 5m notional. There are some shady and illiquid FED Funds effective rate ETF's which you probably cannot even buy via IB. This bet is too big for you. The only thing you could think about is getting into some options box spreads as a proxy....but on a second...

The best Interest Rate Protection hedging product available for Retail Investors (TWS/IB)

Dude, he's a retailer who wants to hedge 50k. Eurodollars are 1m notional. On top of it, he probably only understood the first two sentences. Given the fact that he did not even specify what he wants to hedge (FED funds, STIRS, long term rates) he probably just read some 3rd party analysis...

The best Interest Rate Protection hedging product available for Retail Investors (TWS/IB)

I'm not sure why you want to hedge against rising interest rates, but for a retailer TLT would make sense. That said, it's just an ETF containing 20y+ year treasuries since you did not specify which interest rates you want to hedge.

    Simulating HFT

there is no need to simulate impact minimizing algos such as TWAP, VWAP or similar slicers. It's well known how they work and you cannot really do much more than divide your big order into smaller ones. With HFT market making algos it's different, however, you would need much more than just a...

Do you trade for an income or for a compound effect?

I don't agree: Compounding is necessary for asset management and long term investing. For trading it doesn't matter. You can take 50k buying power and make 15k every single month. Yet, since you trade super illiquid and volatile microcaps you won't ever make more than 15k no matter how much...

Do you trade for an income or for a compound effect?

Most strategies don't scale, thus it doesn't make sense to compound. I trade for income and set some assets aside to generate cash flow.

Half of NFL Player’s Salary to be Paid in Bitcoin

It's a statement more than anything else...and probably not a very wise one. BTC is starting to get hot after the insane run so it draws in a ton of dumb cash.

SMB's 'One Good Trade' Philosophy - Questions

@Jonathan Weissberg : First of all, One Good Trade is one of the few trading books worth reading. However, their strategy is just like any other: It has to resonate with you and your situation in life or it won't work. It doesn't make any sense to go after intraday strategies if you have a...
