Wyoming Bill Would Nullify Obama Gun Control, Jail Feds

Obama will lose the Senate over this in 2014. And Republicans will pick up seats on this. Boehner said that the Congress would be happy to take up any legistlation coming out of the Senate regarding the President's proposals on firearms. He said that because seven Democratic Senators will...

    Wall at the DOM

Very good point. In 2011 and 2012, the CL contract had 20 day historical volatility ranges from 16 - 50 %, and 20 day average daily trading ranges of 150 - 400 tics ( the summer season having the larger trading ranges ). Flipping CL for 2 tics is a great way to get smoked.

Sugar Daddies Fund College For Coeds

Well, I would like to think that at the very least the more mature and 'seasoned' guy knows what the hell he is doing and is almost certainly better at it than the 19 year old. That is at least my own personal narcissistic delusion and I am sticking with it.

    But what about copper ?

The positive correlation between Copper and the S&P 500 used to hover in the low 90 percentile range a couple years ago which was a significant and exploitable statistical edge, but these days the two year correlation is only 74% daily close-on-close. The best correlation you will find to...

    Wall at the DOM

In today's traded volume thus far the Feb contract is still greater than Mar. But if you look at standing open interest, however, Mar has twice that of Feb. Interpretation: you are in the midst of the Feb roll and you will see that more frequently, especially as the exchange is matching...

    Unusual Volume - CL

Is it possible that your data provider is including exchange supported spread volume ? A similar phenomenom happens when I enable synthetic spread volume into the Trading Technologies volume prints. The spreads will trade much higher volume at a given price than the flat price futures...

    CL trading: educational resources

Since over the past two years there has been a 91.8 % positive correlation daily close-to-close between CL and ES, there might not be the "diversification" you are seeking. Just a thought. Is your automation strategy sampling just price points in terms of data ? The reason I ask is that...

    crude down, crude spreads up

When producing commercials want to roll short interest, they are going to buy the front month to second month calendar spread. So, if someone is short the front month flat price ( or strip ) CL contract and they need to continue that short exposure - the fastest, cheapest, most efficient way...

    master trading system

There is great danger in trying to interpret what a market thinks. The market is what the market is. The market does not have to make sense to a profitable trader. To approach each trade entry on a case-by-case basis - relying upon your own objectivity or discretionary impulses or reasoning...

Does anyone "spread" daytrade the ES vs. NQ or YM vs. NQ etc.?

That is why I would recommend longer holding periods. When a trader butchers a proper spread trade by breaking the legs down into individual scalping exercises all sorts of bad things happen. It is no longer a spread trade - it is bad scalping multiplied by four ( for a two legged spread or...

Electric Car Maker Sues DOE Over Loan Denial

No doubt about it. Rock on. Case will probably be heard by a Judge appointed by the Obama administration. Who will not recuse him or herself of course.

Does anyone "spread" daytrade the ES vs. NQ or YM vs. NQ etc.?

    1. There are certainly "better behaved" equity index spread combinations out there than ES vs. YM or ES vs. NQ. In terms of YM, you are actually better off spreading that against the mini Russell 2000 index ( TF ) IMHO. 2. Why not swing trade these instead of day trading them ? Slippage...

    master trading system

Never underestimate a person's ability to self-sabotage any trading system or methodology. ANY system. The five inches between the ears makes or breaks a trader. That's why automated trading systems are usually a pretty good idea for some folks.

    Why Trade Futures?

I have actually taken on some current and former Bright equity pairs traders who wanted to get started into futures spreads. I don't think that is a negative per se for trading equity spreads, and it might be an unfair stretch to say that equity spreads are better or worse than futures spreads...

    crude down, crude spreads up

    1. The distilled products will frequently move at different rates than the crude oil due to refining capacity/constraints and seasonal demand. My advice would be to review the educational materials in the Nymex section on the CME website. 2. You are quite fortunate and a bit naive about the...

    ES Microstructure

There is so much spoofing and order crossing and gaming in terms of the bid / ask - especially off-hours. I would be curious to know why a serious trader would think that there is a tangible and repeatable edge there ? ES is heavily automated - and that includes quite a bit of arbitrage going...
