How about yours? Can anyone provide evidence that you have done anything for them?

Have you used dbphoenix's teachings to become a successful trader?

Neither have you. But keep trying. :D

Have you used dbphoenix's teachings to become a successful trader?

Indeed. Which is why I welcome the contributions of bitter, angry, unsuccessful traders. They help beginners see what can happen to them if they fail to develop thoroughly-tested and consistently-profitable trading plans. ;)

New Republican Congress is a Dangerous Failure

Give us a majority, and we'll show you what the GOP can do. That was the basic sales premise of the midterm elections. Controlling both chambers of Congress, Republicans would show Americans that their party is a governing party. No longer a chaotic, fragmented political entity in a constant...

    My Wyckoff journal

If I may, I'd like to comment on some of this, but trying to match reply to quote would take way too much time. But I'll try to be clear as to what it is I'm commenting on. "Starting over properly" is unimaginably difficult. It's not unlike being told not to think of an elephant. Once one has...

Have you used dbphoenix's teachings to become a successful trader?

As to the question of "stupid or lazy" raised by Ditch, this was written quite some time ago, but it seems pertinent. Perhaps it will help him: ...99% of newbies are deaf when they are told by genuine traders the real hard facts that they need to know about trading. First of all they put their...

Well, Al Brooks devotes two thousand pages to definition, so it can be made as complicated as one wants it to be. Lots of unhappiness on trading forums. But then there's a lot of unhappiness in the world in general, which I'm sure you've noticed if you ever read the comments sections on websites.

To a large extent, those basic trainees.

Have you used dbphoenix's teachings to become a successful trader?

Sorry to interrupt, but with the general availability of replay, "time" becomes very elastic. If one's objective is, for example, to observe and study movement during only the first 90-120m of the NY session and play the sessions at 2x, he can get quite a lot done in a couple of weeks...

Have you used dbphoenix's teachings to become a successful trader?

If one does not succeed as a trader within 6 months of studying any material, then he is most likely not suited for trading. If this were not the case, the probabilities of success would fit much more closely a standard distribution.

Have you used dbphoenix's teachings to become a successful trader?

Yes. Thank you, OT. We got it. But you're not required to read this thread. If you're upset about having missed most or all of the upmove over the past few weeks, that's something you should work on.

Have you used dbphoenix's teachings to become a successful trader?

Well, not to put too fine a point on it, yes. The extraordinary degree to which some beginners' minds have been fucked surprises even me. Why do you suppose indicators are so popular? As for "pullbacks", what's a "pullback"? Traders have been struggling with that one for at least a century...

Have you used dbphoenix's teachings to become a successful trader?

Yes, few succeed. As to the causes, mostly lack of effort. As to when the smooth sailers are coming forward, I have no idea. If you're going to wait for that before reading the material, then your behavior is typical of those who fail.

Have you used dbphoenix's teachings to become a successful trader?

This brings to mind an assignment I had in the service. We were charged with teaching basic trainees to read. These guys were draft age, many of them high school graduates. Yet a surprising number of them didn't even know the alphabet. But they had to be able to read at at least a fifth-grade...

Have you used dbphoenix's teachings to become a successful trader?

Not sure what it is that we agree on, but as to the "long, hard road", sorry, no. Since few of the traders I've encountered over the last fifteen years have any idea what a trend is or how to trade it, much less how to distinguish between a trend and a range and avoid the latter, the "long, hard...

Have you used dbphoenix's teachings to become a successful trader?

Very true. But very few succeed in forex. Or commodities. Or stocks. Or options. With or without indicators. Which is why nearly all traders are looking for somebody to follow and copy. There is one journalist who shall be anonymous who is typical of the sort of "trader" one finds on message...

If it matters to you all that much, I can answer the question for you: one, at least one that I know of.
