    But what about copper ?

Currency effects should be minor in Copper IMHO. Today, the USD was down, and copper up a bit as a result...but that reversed quickly.

    But what about copper ?

Boy, ain't THAT the truth. When I was daytrading with a prop firm in 2004, it was chop-city...the markets were just churning and churning. No trends ! Copper has made a 40 cent move down recently and I think we are going to see it higher before it goes lower. Just a hunch however.

Dec futures seems to be stuck in the 3.42 to 3.48 range now. I'm amazed it hasn't broken down even more.....yet.

    John Henry closes shop

Poor Henry. His mathematical models stopped working. I wonder why ? Trend following bias perhaps ? I heard that Dunn is also down-and-out right now.

Gotta do it soon....I keep waiting for a "relief rally" to get short...but none has appeared in the past 3 weeks.

Surf - re: Copper. Whew, what a weak metal is has been past 2 weeks. Closed 3.44 basis Dec contract. 3.40 is mombo support. If broken, this guy is going below 3.00. Rationale: weak China demand; US housing market to turn weak again after a short-term spurt; the same-old, same-old: fiscal cliff...

First of all, how do you really know that it is very profitable....long term ? If you know that, then it's ALREADY BEEN CODED. This is sounding like a sham/scam type of deal.

Copper the weak player today compared to Silver and Gold.

    But what about copper ?

All metals fairly strong today. Dec Copper up nearly 3 cents even as equities are continuing downward. This is the first "breakaway from equities" for copper in quite some time. Likely some short covering happening here.

Trading below the NBB - How does this happen?

It keeps you from getting "pieced" though. Reduces ticket charges.

Trading below the NBB - How does this happen?

Yeah but his volume was puny...113 shares ? I don't see why that would have any impact on the fill price. Now 5000 shares bid AON, that's a lot different.

    But what about copper ?

Despite incredible downward pressure, Copper held $3.44 today quite admirably. Up nearly 2 cents in Globex trading right now. $3.40 is the big one....

Indeed. Nice call Pek ! My call was for a relief rally...regardless of the winner. Boy, that was not clear thinking.
