Yeah, I think that the market will completely ignore it, but IF there is a gap down, then it's basically free money (gift from above) to those who go long for the rebound

    ES Journal - 2017/2018

I was wondering what effect, if any that would have on the markets. I think the market will ignore the terrorist attacks and just be business as usual, so expecting another decent up week. If it does gap down, i'm sure they'll buy it back up heavily

    London Bridge

Cheers. I'm long and obviously looking for a good few more months (at least) of upside of upside. I know that the market basicallly ignored the last terror attack in the UK in West Minster, so i'm confident it won't even react this time either, but was a bit concerned, as I live near London...

    The S&P 500 has topped at 2430 on 6/1/17

I'd like to see you post your daytrades in the ESJournal again, Volente. Even though I think you're mad for calling tops in what is basically a one-way market that is geared to go up over time, I know that you're on of the better traders here.

    ES Journal - 2017/2018

Seems almost unfair how easy it is to make money in this market for a long time now! haha my neighbour started trading some time back and his 'system' is to go long when the RSI o the 5m gets oversold and then too add to the position every 4 ES points or so in the unlikely event it goes against...

How important are basic trendline and price pattern analysis?

there was a guy called DBPhoenix who was apparently the one to ask for these sorts of questions. I don't tihnk he posts anymore, but you can search his posts here i guess

How important are basic trendline and price pattern analysis?

I suppose an example of a 'price action' trade would be something lke ''A doji bar here at a previous resistance level which cuold now act as sujpport'' or something

How important are basic trendline and price pattern analysis?

I guess because the indicators are a deriviative of the price bars and so are 'later to the party' so to speak? I dunno. Not everyone thinks indicators are bad, though. Some of the 'apparently' better traders here claim to use indicators.

How important are basic trendline and price pattern analysis?

I tihnk 'price action' is really just looking for patterns when it comes down too it. Be it 'shapes' (say, head and shouilders) or certain bars like Dojis etc. End of the day, it's all visual if we are trying to predict the future from looking at price charts.
