Asian equity markets down this morning. So guess who else is down ? Gentlemen, I think we have a correlation here: Strong Asia = Strong copper market. and vise-versa.

What's amazing to me is the fact the company's stock price rose over 700% since the 2008-2009 market swoon... with literally no significant pullbacks. The current "dead-cat bounce" move looks precarious at best....and an ominous head and shoulders pattern has formed. Fair price ? Around 20-25...

Well Oldtime and CDCaveman, I don't dispute either of your statements. I think the same logic can be applied to the crude oil market. Given the weak jobs market, and relatively low inflation levels, that market continues to befuddle me. I keep asking myself "Why is gasoline over $3/gallon ?"...

Unfortunately, a bet on copper, is a bet on the economy (ecomomies !!).

No question if the US economy continues to improve 1st and 2nd quarter 2013, this would be constructive for copper....or at least prevent it from collapsing. More importantly is the Chinese economy....they've got quite a stockpile of copper and have no interest in seeing it decline in value...

I certainly have. The bear case for copper looks bad if the US Dollar gets hit because of more cliff-like issues. It's just another cross-current, but a significant one. The bigger one is China of course. Is the good news out of China going to continue...or is it just a blip ?
