He is not outright short in his position, he is simply hedging to avoid a large loss on his long position. If he shorts dollar for dollar, he has effectively locked in his current gains and will not participate in any upside move in the stock. Effectively Mark Cuban did this about 15 years ago...

Gold will remain "stinky" until worldwide economies start to take off.....IF they ever take off again. Deflationary forces are like a lead weight on the price of gold. The huge unknown is China....as always. They never show their hand.

It's going to be volatile IMHO. As the European crisis unfolds, central banks are going to start printing money (again !) like crazy. When that happens, look-out above. Also, there is this notion that China looks to become huge buyers as gold goes to lower levels. It is an interesting pair trade...

None, which is why you must choose your platform carefully. Each platform has nuances and idiosyncracies that make migration of code a huge PIA.

Now wouldn't it be nice if someone could write a REVIEW on each of these platforms ? I won't name names, but the last one I reviewed I had to "pan"....it had a circular buffer of only 4 periods, primitive scripting language, no backtesting, etc.
