http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-10-12/cme-group-permanently-bars-three-traders-for-exchange-violations At least the CME is cracking down on traders who spoof. I wonder if Nav is banned from trading on the CME ?

Question from someone who know absolutely NOTHING about programming

Not really....it's all about the reliability of the API or trading platform upon which you have built your systems and strategies. Now if you are foolish enough to develop an entire trading platform from scratch, then you've got to be an uber programmer.....and a little nuts as well.

"I control it using a simple web interface." Still, that's a GUI.

    Schizo Greybox Trading

Exactly and all he needs to do is mine his backtested trades and determine what kind of filter will keep those trades from occurring. So his basic method is OK, all he needs now is a filter.

Time of day is a good one....but there are exceptions to this rule.....like Fed announcement days, etc. You should use an override parameter for this one: Trade_Dead_Zone=N Dead zone defined as 11:30 am -> 1:30 pm (or define your own). So on most days you would not be trading in the dead zone.

Why on earth would you trade the pre-opening hours with all of the chop ? Your system works decent when there is adequate volume and movement. Stop and Reverse systems like yours are great when there is good movement....terrible when there is not.

Another company thats going to lend people with bad credit scores money at 26-36% APR.... HAHAH

Not really. His first goal is to determine which FACTORS are meaningful when determining the probability of getting paid back. Notice the RENT vs. OWN on the board....that's huge.

re: "During an interview at a bar a few months earlier, I’d asked Zeines about his conscience. He said he didn’t see a problem with what he was doing. Pearl’s cash advances were expensive, he said, but it wasn’t like its customers had a lot of alternatives." Exactly..and he filled a need in the...

UK trader arrested for May 2010 U.S. Stock market flash crash

No question about it and NAV was a shrewd operator, but his huge downfall was not seeking outside counsel after he pulled down the $30 million. I am sure any lawyer would have immediately told him to "stop it" or to surely face criminal charges. Part of the problem is that I am not sure that he...

UK trader arrested for May 2010 U.S. Stock market flash crash

EXACTLY. And his escape plan just needs a fast helicopter and a private jet with oversized fuel tanks. Otherwise he's facing an awful life of prison followed by poverty since he won't be able to trade US markets again. Worst of all, he won't be able to afford to hit the strip clubs...I'll bet...

I think Nav's best bet is mainland China because they all love to trade there. He'd be a hero within a year there if he started to trade again.

    Edge Ratio for PNL Curve?

re: "compares the MAE to the MFE, but applied to a profit/loss curve" I think all you need to do is take the MAE/MFE over the P/L for a period of time as a percentage. BTW: Interesting metric....

WOW ! What a huge mistake....and likely because the US Attorney was overconfident....and "full of himself". Ego's in the legal profession are just so much part of the legal process. This now gives Nav plenty of time to plan an escape.

Pek - that is a very good point. If they made that move, would he be required to post even more bail to stay out of jail until that hearing ?
