High-Low Range Charts - Market Breadth Analysis

No, you still don't understand. I would want to see the average % and it would be a number like 60.562%. That would indicate that collectively all of my stocks have an average % of that figure. I would compare that to the index. Both calcs use a weighted average based on $ allocation. In the...

One for the ages: I owe Etrade $106k, ouch.

Well, I say that he should. The bankruptcy will not be as bad as the divorce. With all of the legal problems and costs that arise because of the above, he likely won't be able to trade. And that's a good thing.

What algorithmic trading firms use Scala?

I'm not into trading with banks and I'm not "on the street". I just trade from my office.

Here's a question or two ? How's his wife reacting to all of this ? Will his marriage survive ?

What algorithmic trading firms use Scala?

No surprise there....the banksters have the big bucks to experiment with new platforms and waste tons of money on development. I wonder what the going rate is for a Scala developer ? It's gotta be a lot, right ?

What algorithmic trading firms use Scala?

http://www.scala-lang.org/documentation/ It looks very cool....and has a lot of desirable attributes like parallelism. I wonder if someone could write an entire trading platform using it ? Given the complexity of such an app, that would be a great test of it's abilities.

Looking to get excel, 2013 vs 2016?

You should be aware that MSFT silently made a change in Excel 2013 that cause many add-ins to stop working properly. For that reason, I stick with Excel 2010. Who knows what change 2016 will bring ! Add-ins are a big part of Excel as they can extend functionality or actually provide mini-apps...

The heroes of 'Flash Boys' are swinging back against critics

If they implemented anti-spoofing measures, I would be very impressed. The CME Group couldn't or wouldn't do it....not sure why.

High-Low Range Charts - Market Breadth Analysis

This is correct. So instead of counts over and under 50%, I want the average of the percentage for a portfolio.

High-Low Range Charts - Market Breadth Analysis

Got it...I was confused because of the top chart .... which is only a plot of the index. I would like to also see the average % within the range for the stocks in the index.... so if there are 3 stocks and one is 10%, the other 30% and the last one 50%, the average would be 30%. Better yet, do...

High-Low Range Charts - Market Breadth Analysis

What would really be cool is to graph the difference between one's portfolio and the indices you have already displayed. A Question: Is the high-low range calculation just averaging the high and the low ?

High-Low Range Charts - Market Breadth Analysis

These are nice stats, but I see no value from a predictability standpoint. I'd like to see a chart of the performance of just the "high flyers" (GoPro, FitBit, Apple, Valeant, Amazon, etc.) as a guage of market sentiment.

Always Amazed at How Thin this Game Is

Everyone knows that doubling-down is a horrible strategy long-term. Just back-test it. Finally, let me say that anyone doing day trading without a proven "system" is just not going to last very long.

So You Want To Be A Modern "Trader": Here Are The Requirements

This applies only to high frequency trading where nanoseconds count. For systems with average-time-in-trade of minutes or hours, there's no advantage to using C++. C# and Java are more than sufficient IMHO.
