What are your thoughts on the new 2% rule recently implemented by Topstep Trader on funded accounts?

Yes sirrrrrr, you nailed it Turveyd. Exactly my plan. It makes no sense for me to risk my capital. TST starts me off with $2000, then I get busy. It is good program there is no deposits. After reaching the funded stage, the monthly $160 goes away.

I keep 100% of the first $5000 made, then I redraw and go open my own broker account. Win win scenario

Keep grinding Turveyd and measure your results. That is what I do. it is not about being poor or whatever. My friend is a doctor and make good money and he is in TopStepTrader as well. Another friend owns a bike shop and he trades topsteptrader. Again, everyone knows odds of losing is high, so...

What are your thoughts on the new 2% rule recently implemented by Topstep Trader on funded accounts?

Because I do not want to risk my real capital just yet. Why risk my capital, when I can risk their's for about $160 per month. Win win for me while my capital is out making other business moves. And their rules keep me discipline. Their trailing drawdown keeps me for getting outline, especially...

Position sizing and adding to winners.

That is right. That is why I say, write down ALLLLL ways you want to exit with multiple contracts. Take a week to decide the ways. Then everyday just start tracking or go back test. This is what I am doing with my own exiting methods. I have 6 ideas to exit a position. Well, I am testing them...

You're welcome. Now let me tell you. A con to scaling out is knowing when to scale out too. This could lead to confusion and overwhelming energy consumption. Then your mind will always say "man I wish I had exit here or kept this many contracts here or did this or did that" Sheriff Analysis...

bone, This is tremendous great advice. I will be honest, I think my trading results will improve for the better, if I do 3 things. 1. Stop making those entry and trade management mistakes. 2. stop missing trades. 3. Stay consistent. Keeping a daily journal and HONESTLY tracking my results helps.

Position sizing and adding to winners.

Hello Laissez Faire, I only trade 1 contract for now. I have read many sources say take off half position size at certain profit target, and then management the remaining position to ride a winner. Even when I increase position, I rather do all in and all out trading management. NOW, even...

RedDuke, You are are 1000% correct. For example, a doctor has heart surgeon on 10 patients and all 10 patients get sick after the surgery. The doctor will not say "I need to work on my psychology or mindset" The mindset and psychology stuff is bullshit. If I take 1000 trades and make...

I been trading crude oil just fine, keep my risk at $200-$250 per trade. Pretty easy too, just use limit order and wait for entry, put the stop where it needs to be.

destriero, You must be really bored. You still owe me $5000 (recall you bet me stating I was not trading real money on a forum thread and I showed you proof), but you do not see me attacking you for that, right. Let that man help traders and stop all this bullshitting. A trader wants to take...

Well well well...who would like to see my prediction for next week? Post your prediction here...

Maybe I am too simple thinking, but I personally think it is too much work and stress for "me" to try to predict what the market will do day to day or week to week. I rather just wake up each day, and trade whatever direction I see at that moment in time. Just seems like too much work to me...

Spooz Top 2, You are right. For me, it is better to react to what the market is doing and be a Follower not a Leader. If the market is going upwards when my eyes see the market is going upward, my best bet is to find a decent risk location to enter long. High odds are in my favor of a win...
