    This feels like 1999....

Yes, but how long can this bubble last ? We just seem to be a rolling bubble economy any more. One bubble starts, then bursts, then another one pops-up. This is crazy.

    This feels like 1999....

Market making multiyear highs. AAPL at all time high. Super low VIX readings. All of these crazy IPO launches. High inflation (not the government numbers !) Am I missing something ?

Banker struggles on $350,000 a year

As some would say in this thread: you're ENVIOUS. I would say: that's a crock.

Banker struggles on $350,000 a year

You bet, and it supports our current socialistic economy and "government hand-out" mentality. And the people in this country think the problem is capitalism !! No, no, no...we've been away from capitalism for about 20 years. Can we get back ? Absolutely not....the people given the "hand-outs"...

    Option spread execution

What's the best way to enter into an IC ? Is it best to "leg" into it with a limit order for one spread, and then go "market" with the other leg if that gets hit ?

They're the 1 percenters. Priviledged...or so they believe.

Banker struggles on $350,000 a year

WTF....these people are just "full of themselves"...and greedy. I feel especially sorry for the guy who couldn't go to the Mardi Gras for the wet t-shirt contest. That was devastating...I'm sure...LOL.

    Tradestation 9.1: Portfolio Maestro

Although the above is Off-Topic, it is definitely On-Target. Especially the latter...if you are a risk-taker, forget Corporate America.....man, you've got to be a "stay in line" soldier to get a professional job now-a-days in any large corporation. (Note: small ones are not hiring) Traders...

    Tradestation 9.1: Portfolio Maestro

No Stan, that's not what I asked. I am wondering about multi-core processing techniques...: http://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/software-techniques-for-shared-cache-multi-core-systems/ Have you begun to implement this yet ?

How fast is IB order execution?

No, he has a good point. This sort of thing is measured in milliseconds. Is it 100, 500, 1000 ...which ?

Do you know all option strategies in your head?

Jim Cramer was famous for knowing all of his position's breakevens....in his head. We are talking dozens of positions. Quite impressive.

    Tradestation 9.1: Portfolio Maestro

Are both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions of Multicharts architected for multi-core processors ? Or just the latter ?

    Tradestation 9.1: Portfolio Maestro

Exactly. Another point: if you are trading short-term (i.e. day trading), the best strats are COUNTER-trend, not trend-following.

Paying Your Employees So Little That Most Of Them Are Poor?

Exactly. None of the important issues are being discussed in this election: 1) Reduced size of government 2) tax reform 3) tort reform 4) health care reform Thus, no change or improvement for America...i.e. it doesn't matter who gets elected.

Excel spreadsheet for higher order greeks?

But do these Greeks get you out of positions via rules ? IOW: Exit when gamma doubles, or Exit when Theta rises 50% ? If they aren't directly used in the decision making process, I don't "see" their value.

Excel spreadsheet for higher order greeks?

I don't see what the "big deal" is. 3rd order Greeks are just a measurement....they have no bearing on predicting direction of movement. They're in the same boat as RSI and all of the other technical indicators...they're just "Stats". Now, if you have a data mine of these stats, and can apply...

    Tradestation 9.1: Portfolio Maestro

Stan - although I'm no fan of Tradestation, the problem was not endemic to their software per se, but of the granularity of the time series. The problem was dealing with time bars where buys and sells were triggered on the same bar. If you think about it, none of the data vendors will tell you...
