Gold down huge today, copper only down 2 pennies. My take: the big move down is over. Any rally in equities due to fiscal cliff solution would likely bring this guy back to the $3.70 area.

Exactly. Range bound conditions usually correlate with low volatility. This makes long options attractive...especially for the other conditions we mentioned.

Thanks for that Frank. You are aware of course that "stops" won't save you here from a wrong decision. As a result of this tight range, when this sucker breaks out, it's going to be like a 10 or 20 cent move. 10 contracts and you are down 25k to 50k overnight...if you choose "wrong". Choose...

Was off 3 cents to 3.43 this morning ! talk about cliff....the 3.40 cliff is looming large now. Equities subsequently recovered and so did copper....and the other metals. Short copper is a bet against China, US housing market, and to a lesser degree the economies of the world.

ESignal and TWS under Java ARE WINDOWS APPLICATIONS. So they will run faster with a leaner operating system. You may have been thinking about WEB applications. Note: if Java 7 runs under Win8, then TWS will run fine.

Surf - a followup on copper: after the big move down (3.80 to 3.40), it has not budged past week or so. I think it's now got upside potential if the deficit issue is resolved and/or Bennie keeps QE3 alive. Usually it has been tracking with US equities, but no longer. The China story is taking...

Ah, yes, this sounds familiar. Went thru the same exact issue. A small account will do that however. You gotta act fearless as if you can lose the entire account in one day....and not think twice about it. If you use reasonable stops, that shouldn't happen. I've seen prop traders with that...
