Backtesting: Excel VS Wealthlab for intraday strategies

Excel is not a trading platform, nor is it a backtesting platform. Tradestation is Multicharts is Excel is just an all-purpose calculation tool. You'll really have to do a lot of work in VBA and formulas to pull this off. Also, you'll likely find that you need to integrate with a database...

What the hell is causing this extreme constant bullish move in the Dow??!

This is all due to Uncle Benny's helicopter money and other central banks flood gates of cheap $$$. When that ends, look out below. WHEN ? that is the big question. Inflation is already starting to show....so not too much longer now.

    But what about copper ?

March copper at the ever so critical $3.80 level !! Everything is "risk off" right now. I don't "buy it"....employment and economic growth remain weak. This all due to the Fed. As such, It can't last.

    But what about copper ?

Zoom, zoom, ZOOM. Huge run-up from $1500 to $1700 just this year alone. Unbelievable. This IMHO is a blow-off top...unsustainable in this weak economy. Simply a fabrication of the Fed's easy and cheap money stand.

    Multicharts has a serious flaw

So the fix in MC is to simply make sure the number of contracts/shares is explicitly stated in the Strategy's code ? Thus, if one strat is long 1 contract, and the other strat goes to sell 1 contract short, both positions remain ? I wonder if their new dot-new version made any changes in...

    But what about copper ?

Copper being held up by hopes that China will start to boom again. US Housing numbers...fair-at-best...not a huge factor.

    But what about copper ?

Friday, the entire metal complex was down...despite roaring equities and a steady crude oil market. Right now I'm feeling the "froth". What is this telling us ?

    But what about copper ?

Copper (HGH3) could not break 3.80....once again. Weak today in sympathy with gold and silver.

Looking for a Developer/Programmer to create a program for mutual use.

That was the scariest statement so far from the OP. That is what NN and GP do....optimize to the point of curve-fitting the strategy. That must be avoided at all costs. The backwards and forward testing methodology wasn't even mentioned.

Obama's 'Layoff Bomb' Is Starting To Go Off

You ended up the loser on this one. Wow, just another ET loser.

    But what about copper ?

Can copper (HGH3) get to 3.80 ? It's just meandering around here between 3.65 and 3.76. It has a shot if it breaks about the year's high (3.76).

It's time to change horses. Or my switch from scalping to systematic.

Backtesting proves that for a fact. Keith Fitzken's work indicates best systems for intraday trading rely upon counter-trend strategies.

NYSE MOO Fills Worse Since 11/1/07?

That will never happen. Unless everyone on this thread is super-stupid, this abuse of MOO is ....WAIT FOR IT..."By Design"....courtesy of your NYSE market makers so vividly depicted on CNBC. "All bow down, all bow down". you are being rigged....get it ?

    But what about copper ?

Copper has been strong last 3 days. It's on a nice uptrend since the mid-november swoon. $3.80 level remains huge for the bulls... and that was last printed back in January of 2012.

HLF down 3% on a strong market day ? Wow, that recent price rally action truly was a dead-cat bounce !! Looks like this time around, there won't be a bounce....this cat already had it's nineth live.
